Hilton Lake Burna Vista

Has anyone stayed in the Hilton that is in the Downtown Disney area? Did you enjoy it? Isnit good for families and does it have a nice pool? How are the junior suites (if you stayed in them)? Can you actually walk to Downtown Disney? Is the transportation to the parks reliable? It is the only non Disey hotel that lets you use extra magic hours so are most of the cast members of this? I know I shouldn't be, but I worry that we'll try to get in on an extra magic hour day and they'll have no idea what we are talking about! Thanks for any advice! I know this is a lot of questions!

We stayed in the DTD hilton in 2011 for a March trip. We were very excited to leave and start our real vacation at POFQ. The room was OK, getting extra pillows and blankets next to impossible. You can walk to Down town Disney, but you have to cross a very large intersection twice. We didn't feel comfortable doing it with the kids. Would not consider staying here withour a car rental. Transportation wasn't so great, and some of the places they leave you are less than stellar. The EMH, however, did work like a charm. The pools were nice, but closed early. They have different inflatable things you could rent. I guess if I had never stayed at a Disney hotel before, I would have thought it was OK. We figured out after that what we paid for things like taxi service from the airport, it really didn't save us any money.

Thanks for the review! That's very helpful. :) At this current moment, our 3 choices are All Star Music Suites, another hotel called Caribe Royal which offers villas for a cheap price, and this one. The Caribe Royale has the biggest rooms and more amenities (like a kitchen), but the transportation isn't as good and you can't get extra magic hours (which I know isn't the only deciding factor, but it is a factor non the less). The all Star Music is actually the most expensive out of the 3, so some of us think that Hilton might be a good compromise. Its close to Disney, you can use extra magic hours, they have "junior suites" (with not even a microwave, however) and its cheaper. But, who knows, things can always change between now and June. There is a whopping 20 of us going all together (all family), that's why we are looking at suites and villas.

We've rented from " award pool homes" a couple of times. Nice clean house,tv, dvd, full kitchens your own pool and a whole house runs a little more than a value room . 20 people will involve more than one house but they give AAA discounts and with multiple houses you will definately get some type of discount! Also with a kitchen do breakfast at the house and save a fortune
