'Highway in the Sky Dine Around' combines monorails and restaurants

The price point doesn't bother me at $150 per person. Depending on of course what the "special Chef’s main course selection" will actual be. Also, I'd like to know what the "libations" will be and are they all you can drink or just [insert number here] you receive.

We monorail resort hop about twice a month just doing appetizers & (adult) beverages. So this is basically the same deal we do (on our own) though you are guaranteed seating of course at Citricos with this deal. Which has never been an issue for us as we are only two anyway. Still. The cost does seem pretty good for what you will be receiving.

If you look at the lowest priced meal on Citricos dinner menu is $30.00 with the Seared Tofu. However, I doubt that would be the chef's main course selection for this deal. The highest meal is the filet at $49.00.

The average price, not the lowest, the average price for an appetizer at most of these resort stops is somewhere around $14.00. So you get an appetizer at the first & second stop with the chef's main course selection.

With tax this deal would be $159.75. Though valet ($25.00 at resorts) is included, so the meal(s) are really $134.75 taking off the $25.00 for valet.

If you went to each of these resorts on your own, going off an average cost of appetizers and a meal at Citricos. You could go off this I was quickly throwing together:

Valet (if you chose to) | $25.00
Appetizer at the Contemporary | $14.00
Appetizer at the Poly | $14.00
Dinner at Citircos | $49.00 (high end)
Appetizer/Desert at the Contemporary | $14.00
TOTAL | $116.00

Overall, this is not a bad price point considering the guaranteed seating at Citricos & for Wishes at the Contemporary. With a group of people. I assume this will feel more like a cruise ship excursions than it will anything else. Depending on how many other guests are in your group of course.

Something we are going to do at least once to see how it is here soon.

Thanks - the Blog is wrong (surprise!) - with the tip included it becomes a much better deal. Just booked this for 1/17
That was my thought. Although I'm slightly bummed that I'm paying for valet parking that I won't use (we're staying at BLT for our trip so that $25.00 freebie is going straight into Disney's pocket).

My only problem is the cruise ship feel. I do not want to be grouped with people I do not know and possibly do not like.

It all depends on the quality of the food, and the pacing of dinner. Hurry up and wolf down your chow because the monorail is leaving does not sound too good. Take your time to enjoy this well thought our entree sounds much better. Reviews will tell.

Sounds good. Just 2 thoughts? How many people are going to be in each group? Are they staggered throughout the night with several tours? Are they taking away the public viewing area on the 4th floor? If they are, then it's another infringement on the paying public and it is a shame. I hope they don't take away the public's viewing spot. Otherwise, it sounds like what a lot of people are doing anyway, and possibly cheaper.

Cost is $150 plus tax and gratuity.
gratuity is included but tax is not

I didn't see where it says you'll be at community tables. I'm guessing you'll have an itinerary but in no way do I get a vibe that you'll be sitting with people at the restaurant other than your own party. On the monorail, you'll definitely be with others, but that's nothing new.

our reservation time is 5:45 in mid March and Wishes is at 9:00 so that seems like plenty of time to enjoy each place.

Anyone know how the priority monorail boarding is gonna work? That's the only kinda gross thing about this, other than that it seems kinda fun.

You forgot a minimum of three drinks, though the description of the event sounds like more than that. Figure a minimum of $12 each. You just got your $150 back.

don't know but the question is, if the monorail is even working...we all know how that can be. I guess they would then bus everyone.

I don't believe it's staggered with multiple tours. When I reserved, it only gave me the choice of one time - and that time is 3 hours and 15 minutes before Wishes launches (which seems to be the start time for all of the other days as well). I would assume that if Wishes gets pushed back, so will your start time.

Of course.

I did leave them out on purpose as many do not drink adult beverages so I did not want to put that in.

We do drink adult beverages and that's why I am curious to what and how many libations you receive with this package. If it is at least two per stop, it is more than worth it at $150. If not ... We'll still do it at least once just to see what it is like I'm sure.

Cash grabs done right make everyone happy. It's not that hard to get right.

1. A unique experience worth the price.

2. Doesn't impact regular paying guests.

Well, considering you'll be using the monorail (which is a mass transit device), it will be impacting regular paying guests who are trying to get from the parking lots or resorts to the parks and vice versa. So, yeah, fail.

By this logic you're also opposed to Ferrytale Wishes cruises and the new offering inside MK with the river boat and Dessert Parties in general since those all take "space" -!: resources from non-paying guests?
