My 8 year old daughter loved the movie so much I bought her the cd. I have to admit, I was disappointed when she took it out of the cd player in the car so she could bring it in for show and tell( I wanted to keep listening to it ). Yes, it's cheesy, but very catchy.

Actually -- Music Theatre International had a deal with Disney from day one to release this to high schools' for the fall. Their only caveat was that it could not be performed until after the DVD had hit the market. This is not all that unusual for this kind of thing. For show rental information, you can follow this link: http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?id=000304 Oddly, I felt the show was sort of a way-cleaned-up Grease - even to the point of similar plot twists, song tempos, and final number (remniscent of We Go Together)...I thought it was fun and would be a great show for high schools to do.

I have not seen the movie but I hear that it is great is there a way to see it? I know that the dvd is out but money is the problem and even for renting it I just dont like to rent movies and then have to return them.

I wife said she saw a commerical for the DVD and with the purchase of the DVD you get $5 in Disney Bucks.

I got the DVD on Tues. when it came out.:sohappy: However, no Disney bucks in mine. I did not purchase it at the Disney store however. Anyone know about this?

High School Musical is corny. It's a Spin Off to the previously anounced "Happy Feet" movie. I liked Happy Feet better because it had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay catchy tunes. I prefer the Cheetah Girls 2, Jump In's ok, Cow Belles is cheesy, Spider Man Trilogy rocks, and High School Musical :dazzle:
