High School Musical pep rally

The WDW version of the HSM Pep Rally will be getting a better stage in the new year. I have seen some sketches and it will look pretty cool and theme well with Tomorrowland when not in use.

That's good news. Will they be hiring more performers and getting some better costumes and props? Or are they just going to stick with the current five CM routine on a different stage?

Uhh.... That was the Mickey High School Musical thing they did for like two weeks back in June. That isn't the real HSM Pep Rally show at DCA. But it is rather odd.

Funny how rumors start..

Actually, that was a one time engagement (as in, it only happened once, not for two weeks). It was not an official event, just something Mickey and the gang decided to do for fun. Seriously.

Ah, okay. That's fascinating. I had heard about it and knew it was a limited engagement, I just had no idea how limited it was!

Thanks!

OK, not to diss my favorite place in the world, but what the heck were they thinking. It sucks! I felt like I was in a Six Flags. Either make it better or get it out of here now!

You said it. There has long been a noticeable difference in the quality of stage shows and parades and entertainment between Disneyland and Walt Disney World..... but this High School Musical Pep Rally thing has sunk WDW to a new low.

I looked at a couple other online videos of it at WDW, and it's really just embarassing in its current form, even if you don't compare it to the vastly superior version at Disneyland.

I haven't seen any sketches, but I was also told that the current stage is only temporary.

I for one have never seen HSM....maybe that's a good thing. But understand here this takes me back to many other shows I've seen at theme parks in the past that seem to not make quite a bit of sense...

School of Rock: Live - Paramount Parks
Entertainment Tonight: Live - Paramount Parks
Leathal Weapon Boat Spectacular - Six Flags Great Adventure
Police Acadamy Stunt Show - Six Flags St Louis

As for the shows that Disney Parks incorporated...let's just say....
Jim Henson's Dinosaurs LIVE Parade, Ace Ventura Stunt show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Goosebumps Carnival, Disney's Doug Live.....

Need I go on?

Originally, I thought that the HSM was going to be in the galaxy theater thing, but no, its like flat dead in one part of TL. Its almost like what in Gods name were they thinking, it doesnt fit in with the theme, it doesnt fit in at all, its just like bam a successful movie, hey lets put it in TL where it just seems right.

Although it adds an energy to TL that I think is good, compared to DLs version its just a flat out embarassment. I mean, if your going to do something(like putting a movie based show in TL where it doesnt fit) atleast do it right, like they did at DL.

I think Disney listened - they are adding several new cast members to the WDW show, are adding new dance breaks and in general making the show "bigger." The new version debuts mid-November. When combined with the new permanent stage in January, I think it will be much closer to DCA's version.

Yeah... Disneyland's version definitely wins this one.

While WDW's version only has 5 total "students," California Adventure's has about 16 "Students," and a much fuller show. I also felt that the WDW version tries to teach the breakdown WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too fast for the kdis that are trying to keep up! I'm 22, and a pretty decent dancer, and I couldn't even keep up with the rate they were going.

(disclaimer: I understand that this is in no way the fault of the performers, but rather whatever director was in charge of putting the show on, and whatever bean counter gave WDW its pep rally budget)

same old story.....the entertainment options at WDW are weak in comparison to the other Disney parks....

I hope Nemo will change this long time trend....

I like the traveling idea of the float throughout the park, of course that wouldn't work so well at MK in FLA. Watching the kids infront of the HSM Stage reminds me of the crowds and locals at Tokyo DL. I bet HSM will have a large groupie gang soon =)

if any one has the full show from DCA my cousin would love to see it.

Here's a decent YouTube video of the full show from Disney's California Adventure taken from roughly center stage. It's not a profesional video, but it's pretty good. I just noticed the basketball players form the WILDCATS blocks into platforms that have "DL" and "CA" facing the audience. Disneyland and California? Get it?!

Why did they even attempt this at WDW if they couldn't pull of something like the California version?

Yeah, that's the same link I posted here in this thread two days ago in Post #6. :D

That is the finale' number for the DCA version of HSM Pep Rally during its second show stop of its first performance on its very first day earlier this month.
Sorry about that I did not know that.

You are about three weeks too late for that news. I saw it on the 30 when I saw all of new shows. Here is a link that is on youtube that some video typed

Oh my gosh...:brick: the other pep rally videos...:hammer: Don't get me wrong or anything, but hsm was okay. Now it's like everywhere I go, there is always something about hsm. I'm not trying to start anything but seeing all that makes me what to stay clear of the area where it will be at...so where is it located at? (so I make sure to stay away..)
