Hidden/Overlooked Treasures at WDW Video

Hey everyone,
A while back there was a list floating around here about hidden/overlooked treasures found at WDW. It was quite extensive and very interesting. Some friends and I decided it might be fun to take that list and go searching, what came of it was that we made a countdown video. Its all in fun and not supposed to be anything comprehensive or all-knowing. If you want to check it out we just finished it and loaded it online.

The detail page is here
http://secondstarfilms.com/Videos/?p=5
and there is a link at the bottom to start the playlist from youtube.

Enjoy!

I LOVE THIS PAGE:

That's great! I even knew most of those things, but hadn't ever photographed them.

Thanks!

Thanks!

We have a bunch more that ended up "on the cutting room floor" that will be added to our Hidden Treasures Page in the coming weeks.

The whole process from conception to completion took about 3 years so to celebrate finishing we are of course taking a vacation.

We are heading back and will be in WDW next week. If there is any hidden/overlooked treasure that you've heard rumors of and want confirmed or just anything you'd like to see added to our Hidden Treasures Page let us know. We'll try to get photos and/or video and load them onto the site. We leave Friday, just give us a heads up.

Woodlen Leg Named Smith

Where is the wooden leg named smith?

I heard at the frontierland station but i have never seen it!!!!!

Inside the Frontierland station there is a room that is set up as a small old-time waiting room. On the wall closest to the tracks there is a shelf that has "Lost & Found" items on it. Look on that shelf and you'll see a wooden leg with the name "Smith" stamped on it.

You can see the leg in his photo. If the camera tilted down you would be able to see the train tracks through that window. The train moving from left to right.

I actually noticed the Smoke Tree Ranch reference last week when someone posted a zoomed-in photo of Walt.

That was totally awesome, guys. Many thanks.

P.S. Have you ever heard of the mural in the Magic Kingdom with all the movie characters? It's in the back of Exposition Hall, from what I recall; used to be the Walt Disney Story.

That mural was actually on our list of "must-sees" when we were there filming last, but we never made it. An interesting one we've been wanting to get a look at is a silhouette of Lady & The Tramp through a window in Tony's.

Also, I'm glad the Party Line Phone made it back, while we were editing it had been removed because of renovations and we were worried it was lost forever.

Where is it now? When I was in WDW back in May it was gone and the CM told me she didn't know where it was or whether it would come back.

I was the only person in my family to ever pick up the phone and listen (I just randomly did it a few years back before I even found this site)...it would be great to show it to them on our next family trip (I wrote down the ones you guys featured that I never noticed before to take on our next trip...I find it hilarious that my family goes into Sir Mickey's several times a trip and not one of us has ever noticed the huge giant face peering in ).

There was a thread, last week I think, that mentioned it had been installed in the Hat Shop. We are headed to WDW tomorrow morning for one week and will get some photos and post them on our Hidden Treasures Page on the site.

Along the same lines, if there is anything you'd like to see on that page let us know, we'll throw it on the list of photos to get.
