Hi, can anyone tell me what the weather and crowds are like around the 3rd week in April? Trying to make plans for our next Disney trip. We usually go in July because I am a teacher and can only go on school vacations, or in the HOT Summer months. Has anyone been to WDW around the 3rd week of April that can give me some advice??? Our last four visits have all been during April - around the Easter period. To be honest we have experienced all sorts of weather (except snow and hurricanes).
On the whole the weather has been mainly very warm to hot, there has been the odd afternoon downpour, several cloudy (cooler) days, and one day with a torrential thunderstorm in the evening.
April is an ideal time weatherwise

We have been to WDW a few times in April and it is usually pretty warm, so shorts are a must! However, there have been a few slightly chilly early mornings where I have felt so bad for the little ones(especially babies) that I have seen where the parenst have not packed properly and they were wearing sunsuits. I know they must have been cold because I was with a sweatshirt on. Usually, on those mornings it warms up real quick and can be HOT by lunch time.

My advice is to pack mainly summer clothes but include a few sweatshirts for all and even some light weight pants just in case. We have used these on many occasions during our trips in March and April!

I've been to Disney twice in late April and both times it was outstanding, days well up in the 80s but the humidity wasn't bad at all...hot in the sun but nice in the shade. I think the real high humidity there starts sometime in mid to late May.

Wait times

If your trip avoids the Easter fortnight then wait times should be minimal ( consider when Spring Break kicks in ).
If your trip is over Easter then the crowd levels build towards the Easter weekend and slacken off on the other side. As a plus to this, the Park Hours around Easter are longer than normal April hours when Easter falls elsewhere

Aprils hours depends on Easter. When we were last there (April 2003 - Easter fortnight) the parks were closing anywhere between 10pm and midnight (MK,MGM & EPCOT). Without Easter then I guess you're looking at closing around 9 - 10pm
