I don't want to go to MK tomorrow because I'd like to do more than 3 attractions in a Disney day however I'd like to warch the fireworks at midnight. So I want to watch them from the balconies outside of Contemporary Resort, however I want to make sure I'm allowed. I've done it before but I want to make sure I could under special circumstances. Any help would be appreciated :)

Or...I've watched them from outside the turnstiles on the boat dock of the MK on NYE. Yes you are right, 3 attractions would be a lot to cover on NYE, we've done a lot of People Mover, over and over again.

If you're talking about the balcony at the north end of the tower, on the same floor as the gift shops, anyone is allowed to go out there. However, since the resort will be at or near 100% occupancy, and the Magic Kingdom will be closed off to new guests, there will be LOTS of people wanting to watch from that balcony. You'll want to start camping out pretty early.
