Hess Oil & Chemical Corp., which by 1999 had become a $6.6 billion corporation and the 12th-largest U.S. oil company and now includes among its operations about 1,000 retail gasoline stations, primarily in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

Never heard of it till now. I live in Iowa, one of the most boring parts of America. The only good thing we have going in Iowa is the Lost Island Water Park which supossedly was designed by someone who worked on Typhoon Lagoon, and Adventureland which just tries to imitate a Disney Park with lame results. Disney is probably going to take down that park soon, as it copies Main Street, The Train Station, and it has that Kermit Ball Toss Game. If Disney assimilates it before Six Flags(which is already making plans to buy it as i've heard), maybe it might be more fun, they could transform it into a new Disneyland type park.

The funny thing about all of this is that if you search on exxons website for gas stations, it only lists the one by Downtown Disney and the one by MGM. The one on World Drive near the Magic Kingdom must only be branded as Exxon Mobil.

THis would make sense becasue many of the Exxon Mobil gas stations were actually owned by ConocoPhillips who just recently sold them to Sunoco and Lukoil (from Russia).

Definitely plenty of Hess stations in South Jersey, and PA too. Also I have found that the on property stations are actually marginally cheaper than those in the surrounding area.

Sorry, but that's not true. As a long time Jets fan :( I had to reply.

The Jets were sold to Johnson & Johnson heir Woody Johnson in early 2000 after the death of Leon Hess.

Not that that has helped the Jets any :(

But there is always next year

There are Hess stations in New York, too. We've also got Citgo, Exxon-Mobil, BP, Sunoco..

I used to have a ton of those Hess trucks advertised on tv..

I wish sponsorship didn't have to change. But at least UoE is going to have a sponsor. Unlike some pavilions *cough*Living Seas*cough*

But "Universe of Energy - sponsored by Hess" just doesn't sound as cool as "Universe of Energy - sponsored by Exxon-Mobil".. does anyone else think Exxon is just a really cool word?

Ok.. I know I sound like a moron. It's time to go to work now. :sohappy:

It's werid that Hess would replace Exxon/Mobil I thought disney only got the biggest companies in there markets. Like VISA, Coca-Cola, NESTLES, ATT, etc.

HESS hq is in Jersey right off the turnpike/i95. Its a northern gas station.
