Herbie the Love Bug Ride

I don't know if many people know about this attraction that never happened but an attraction based on Herbie was invented in the 70's and was thought to go in Fantasyland and Disneyland. Here's the concept art:

Based on the concept art, in my opinion, this ride would have been really cool. The Herbies would have been able to do tricks like wheelies, tip over and even split apart, as you can see in the photo. This ride would be perfect for DCA. Where it would go, I don't know, but the thought of it going in the park is making me wish they'd bring the idea back to life. What do you think?

Great find! That really would've been a stretch in Fantasyland, but it would be great in DCA. I wonder if they really would've been able to pull off the car splitting in two?

Yes, there's nowhere near enough room for something like this in Fantasyland. I was think about that too. The splitting thing. I don't have an idea of how it would have been executed but the idea sounds so cool. I really wish this wasn't shelved.

What an interesting ride. Reminds me a bit of Road Trip USA before WDI settled on Cars Land.

I can see some similarities. Speaking of Car Land, I think I would've been happy with Cruise Street.
