my keyboard wont let me use the shift button for what i want, in aim it make smilies. its drivin' me nuts help

LMAO....I had a similar problem a few months back...I couldn't place my cursor over any icon on my desktop....it kept scooting away like two magnets with the same polarity....It was a virus....

..if you have a virus program, maybe you should try running it to see if there's a problem.

I would first try rebooting your computer. Sometimes if you have a problem with your computer, simply rebooting it will solve it. I had a similar problem with my keyboard a while back, and rebooting solved mine. I hope this works for ya.

i ran a virus check on EVERYTHING on my computer, then i restarted, and then i shut it down and started it again....didn't work....earlier i had hit the keyboard, and i think i hit some button that changes it, now to find out how to put it back

Thats what I was going to suggest...

I go thru keyboards at a rate of 3 a year...so I know that they are frail and need to be replaced often.

Be happy...one time my "z" key was busted...and for all you computer geeks out there..you know that "Z" is required to "undo"...and since i do lots of art....i was going thru hell...

Some other common uses for the "Z" key::

In Maya (3D program) it is also the "REDO" key

In Softimage|XSI it was the zoom tool...so i couldnt look at my 3d models

You need "Z" to type "Zebra" (betcha didnt know THAT..did ya?)

i LOVE my logitech optical mouse..that errrie red glow ROCKS...

not to mention never having to clean a mouse ball ever again is well worth 20 bucks.

The only problem with the little light, is that I always think it's my phone, cuz my phone blinks red when there is a message,a nd the mouse is underneath the phone, on the computer desk lol i love not having the ball
