I have a MK view room reserved. Is there a location I should request? Is the end with Chef Mickey's or the gift shop closer to the Magic Kingdom?
Ask for the highest floor possible (won't be the highest 2, those are club level & suites) as far away from Chef Mickeys as possible. That will put you closer to the MK & the higher floor will give you great views with less elevator issues.
We always stay at Contemporary. MK view is best in odd numbered rooms not at giftshop end. Support columns at giftshop end and wall on balcony somewhat interfere with view. Odd numbered rooms have beds facing MK. Nice to wake up with castle first thing you see as you sit up in bed. We have been at Chef Mickey's end on many occassions and it has not been a problem. We are moderate sleepers so minor noises don't wake us up. We were even one floor above monorail one year and even that didn't wake us up. Overall, I guess I'm saying that unless you are very light sleepers, choose odd numbered room on a floor as high as possible not all the way at the giftshop end. We found being near elevators was a good spot, especially at the beginning and end of each day (less walking). Enjoy, we're jealous.
