Hi, in late September I will be taking my girlfriend and our son to Disney World. While we are there I plan on proposing to my girlfriend. I would like to include our son who is just under 2 in the proposal. This will be our first family vacation and I want to make it a special one. I am lost on where and when to do it and get our son involved. Please help!

What is something you all really enjoy that is Disney? Can your son talk ok yet? I know some 2 year olds can and some can't.

I think it might be cute to do something that would at first look like it revolves around your son and then surprise your girlfriend. She would probably never see it coming.

It might even be cute to find a prince outfit for your son and do one of the princess packages for your wife and have your son bring your wife a card that says will you marry me on it. It is a little over the top but could be so cute. If you did it front of the castle is would be like both of you are truly her prince charming in that moment.

Thank you for the ideas. Unfortunately our son is not able to really talk yet and I would be to affraid try and teach him something that he might say ahead of time, lol.

Here is something that you can do.... with the help of DisneyFlorist.com
I have actually set this up for 3 clients so far. After they do that you can get down on one knee and propose. Carriage rides are available at either Port Orleans Riverside or Fort Wilderness.

Create a Fairy Tale CreateFT

A shimmering Glass Slipper and a sparkling Tiara arrive on a Carnation Pillow, surrounded by lace. As your Princess smiles in amazement over your gift, you place the Tiara on her head and create a fairy tale moment she'll never forget! Ask a Disney Florist Dream Maker about how we can create a magical moment for your special celebration!
Memory Making Tip: Create a moment of enchantment by making reservations for you and your loved one at one of our Walt Disney World horse-drawn carriage rides (by calling 407-WDW-PLAY). Then, have this gift delivered to the excursion. At the beginning or end of your romantic experience, have the driver present the gift and say, “We’ve found the lady’s slipper.” Then crown your loved one a Princess while sharing warm sentiments of your affection.

I was thinking of doing it at CRT but my family will be there and my brother made the reservation. I was kind of hoping for a little more privacy from my family. Do you think if I call Disney and ask for a separate table they'll be able to work with me? Technically they'll have the right person count but they'll just have to separate the tables. If they can do that, does anyone know how to get them to bring out the ring in a glass slipper and if so how much that would cost. I am working with the dining plan if that'll help or not. I was just thinking that a princess should be proposed to in a castle. If thats a no go I am open to other suggestions. Please give your thoughts. Always happy to listen.

Congratulations to you both (and your son)! I am sure your girlfriend will love any idea that you come up with because it is from your heart. I always like the idea of picking some place that has special meaning to you, whether it's a favorite ride or character....the possibilities are endless. There are so many beautiful spots within the resorts that you could use too, ie) Polynesian beach front, Animal Kingdom savannah, Wilderness Lodge lake front.

Have a wonderful trip.

I love the idea you have with the glass slipper and shoe. Call Disney and ask to talk to someone who can help you plan a special event. Also call the restaurant and see what they can do. I think you can get Disney to work with you just call and talk directly to them.

It'll depend on the set up on the tables. If they physically have an additional table to put you at then I can't see why it wouldn't be a problem. I would call them sooner rather than later to figure it out. Not sure what your budget is but what about a fireworks cruise on "The Grand One" yacht? It's supposed to be beautiful and you'll both be able to get a private dinner and watch the fireworks. I'm sure their tailored service would be able to really customize something. They also have other cruises which I'm sure are less expensive. Here's the link.

Other ideas...
- Chef's Table dinner or dinner at a special restaurant (I suggest V&A, Cali Grille, Citricos or Narcossee)
- A Horsedrawn Carriage ride
- Get a professional photopass portrait session and propose while the photographer is taking your pictures in a beautiful spot (which you'll help decide).

Whatever you do, make sure you get your Engaged Pins to celebrate once you've popped the question to wear around the parks!! Good Luck!!
