Hi all, we are going back to Disney (yeh!) in May 2005. However, we are thinking of also doing a 1-day Universal trip. Hubby cannot tolerate fast rides or coasters - due to family history of severe vertigo -- but is okay on Star Tours and COP :) type rides. Is it even worth going to Universal? I love fast rides (I go solo on TOT and RnRoller Coaster) but won't pay money to go by myself at Universal too. What rides at Universal are NOT coaster types? I think Shrek4D for example is a "sitting still" attraction, but not sure about others - any one care to give their own personal list of what attractions at universal would be okay for hubby? Again, he does not mind MGM Backstage Tour, or virtual reality type of attractions, just cannot stomach ones that move fast and drop fast! :veryconfu

Universal from what i have experienced does not have fast rides or coasters. You could do terminater 3-d, Shrek 4-d, back the future ride, men in black, jaws, earthquake, might not be able to do the mummy (have not riden it yet), and twister...the only big coasters and such are at the islands of adventure.

Vertigo runs in my family too and I've begun to carry Antivert as I do get signs of it. I think it depends on what your honey is up to at that time. I know one day I'm fine and the next two I can be dizzy as all heck. But it's never knocked me like it does my mother; she gets violently ill when it attacks her.
Good Luck!

You might get more response if you posted this under the general parks discussion.
As to Universal, not to be rude, I would not go there on a bet.

I was just at Universal with a friend with vertigo, She was able to do the "show" attractions, ie: Shrek, Jaws, Earthquake, Twister, ET. We did the MIB and she seemed ok, but there were a couple of quick 360 spins, then we tried the Back to the future...not good!! After that she was done with the whole ride thing...we seemed to be in agreement that the combo of the two pushed her over the edge. Hope this helps.
