Help with October Crowds

We are looking to book a trip this year from Oct 5 through Oct 10 (Sunday to Friday, wife works Saturdays) and I was wonder what you guys thought about the crowd level. Now we are leaving the Friday before Columbus Day weekend so hopefully we miss that crowd but from previous threads it seems like October is getting busier and busier. I guess the wine and food festival will be going on then but with a 6 yr old and 2 yr old I think we could skip Epcot this time. We got to got last September and it was not to bad but there where still long lines. We used the FP+ as one of the test groups but the average wait time was around 20 to 25 minutes, not bad but there was never any walkups... Could be we picked the wrong park that day.

You know what's funny?
I was there for the first weekend in October this past year. I only remember EPCOT being busy at night due to f&w. It wasn't too bad in the other parks at all. Walk-ups or short waits in the morning for the first couple hours for most attractions.

I was also there the first week of Oct. 2013 ( 9/28-10/5) Crowds weren't bad at all. Ride almost anything you wanted as much as you wanted early each day. Use your fastpass+ selection for later in the day ,you don't need them early in the mornings. Wine and food festival was going on (we stayed away at night) Also attended MNSSHP, great fun. Give it a try if you have never been. Temperatures were just right for me, not too hot or cold. Have a great trip

I agree. Definitely attend the Halloween party if you never have before. It is awesome.
