HELP! with jetBlue

Anyone who has flown or dealt with jetBlue I could use a little help. Here's the deal...

We've had to change our October WDW trip to February which, obviously, leads to use having to change our flight. Now we're not going to cancel it rather change the dates...mainly because I don't want to loose any money towards the flight. My question to you all is this: Have any of you ever been able to have the fees that come with changing a flight waived? I think I'm looking at about $160 I'd like to have knocked off.

Wishful thinking, right? I know it' a bit of a stretch to think they would waive the fee but I figured I'd ask. I've never had any issues when booking flights but this trip change came up very suddenly so it's really thrown off my travel groove. :(

Any advice is greatly welcome.

By and large, airlines are not into waiving fees these days. If you have a good story, try it out and see what happens. But most likely, you'll be paying the fees.

I wanted to switch my travel dates from dec. 7th to the 13th over to the week before that, and they said its gonna cost me $100 per person to change my flight through delta.

Tell them someone died, that usually gets you some sympathy

9 times out of 10 they will require a death certificate and even then it will usually only get you a discounted fare not a waiver of change fees. If you bought the insurance it might be covered. But otherwise you will most likely have to pay. You will also have to pay any difference in fares too.

I'd never use the death or sick excuse for anything....just bad karma, I suppose.

Doesn't look like you will get it waived. $160 is not that bad. Especially since to change my flight to 3 hours earlier on JB it would have cost me $400 for the 4 of us. Needless to say I did not do it.

I guess it can't hurt to try but I think you may have to deal out the cash.

I wouldn't use this excuse - or any other really. These people probably hear hundreds of phoney excuses so it will wear a little thin - it's also a little immoral.

I think that unfortunatly you will be looking at paying the charges.

when I booked our flights to orlando for our latest trip I messed the dates up and it would have been $75 per person with airtran. it was a mistake, and airtran constantly changes their flight times around with no compensation whatsoever going to the consumer but they gave me a hassle about dropping the fees so i chose to book with southwest instead of paying a fee for a mistake. i then wrote several letters to their customer service dept and someone actually felt bad for me and gave us a $360 credit which im using for our dec trip. still won't book with them again, to much of a hassle with all the fees.

Well, I actually got a response from jetBlue today (I was surprised they'd answer that quick) Looks I'll have to pay the fees. Now I'm not snarky about this at all, I'm actually the last person who would try to finagle a situation such as this one. And I do realize that an extra $160 isn't *too* bad, all things considered. I guess when the situation came to be I got a little stressed and didn't know what else to do so I figured I'd give it a shot and email them.

Hopefully we'll scrape up enough money before our initial departure date...:lookaroun

Thanks for the tips everyone!
