Help with ideas for decorating Puppet Theatre

Hey everyone. Hoping I can get some insight/suggestions on how to decorate a project.

My husband and I are building a puppet theatre for a friend's 7 year old daughter for her birthday next week, but are stumped as to how to decorate it.

Here is a picture of how it will look (as these are the directions we are following): http://familyfun.go.com/decorating-ideas/building/feature/famf0502_proj_puptheat/

The two colors we bought to paint it are rose and sage green (ok, sue me, they were mistints and cheaper, but, I still love those colors together, call me a product of the 70-80's :ROFLOL:)

Anyway, we thought of painting the outside front portion rose, and the two side walls facing outside sage; then doing the opposite on the inside. On the two side windows, the point facing out (there are doors that hinge close over the windows, so the outside of the door) would be sage, while inside is rose. The front "lip" where the puppets would "sit" would be sage. We were planing on having a sage flowery stenciled border above the large window in the front, but are at a loss for whether we should stencil something (any ideas for a name for the theatre would be great) or another design under the large window. I was thinking maybe balloons, but, would that be cheesy? That's why maybe I was thinking a creative theatre name under the large window with something around it, but quite honestly, it's been years since I've had to decorate something like this for a 7 year old, lol.

I'm open to any/all suggestions on this one though (we haven't started painting, so any better options would be great). I am not ashamed to say that I am seriously lacking on the creative front on decorating a puppet theatre, lol.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Em

p.s. The curtain covering the large center hole is red velvet. I know it doesn't match much, but, it seemed a theatre would need a red velvet curtain; plus it would be pulled back at "showtime".

One thing you could do is name the theater after the gilr whos bd it is, Another thing is maybe see if you could get a couple of her favorite puppets and draw them on the outside.

Em--that is sooooo thoughful. I loved the picture of it in the directions you are using. I was also going to suggest using the child's name for the theater's name. If you do that maybe have the initials of the child on the sides of the theater as like a monagram. Please post pictures during the construction phases, please...
