Help with creating "home videos"

My dad received "Roxio Easy Media Creator 10" for Christmas. My parents have spent countless hours ever since trying to figure out how to use it. They even bought the "For Dummies" book and downloaded from the internet tech manual - all to no avail.

My dad just wants to do simple things like:

- edit digital videos from his camcorder
- add titles
- make chapters
- add soundtracks
- delete and/or move scenes

Can anyone recommend a more user-friendly software program to achieve this? They have given up on Roxio and are really frustrated.

I have that program as well. I think it'll take a few steps if you want to create a DVD with different chapters.

Here's what I did:

  1. Open Roxio Easy Media Creator 10
  2. Click on "Video"
  3. Then you have 2 choices: CineMagic or VideoWave (I chose the latter)
  4. From there you can select what videos you want, cut, splice, soundtracks, etc.
  5. Save them all into a folder of your choice.
  6. Open MyDVD
  7. From here you can select the video files, create chapters and finalze to DVD.
My steps may seem long so if anyone else has quicker steps, feel free to post 'em! :)

Will have to check out this Pinnacle Studio then as I am wanting to do this with my home videos too! Thanks for the heads up!
