Help with booking disneyworld florida

Hi everyone,
I'm from the UK and thinking about booking to go to disneyworld florida over the xmas period (5 days, anytime between 27th december and 3rd january).

However I have found the prices to stay at disneyworld are quite high for my budget. Does anyone know a cheaper option that will enable me to book a flight and stay near disneyworld florida, and then just pay for the 5 day ticket pass and get transport to the location?.

Many thanks. Hope someone can help me make my dream come true.

Regards,
Jon Bennett

That week is the most expensive week for all hotels. If you stay at a decent hotel you are looking at at least $100 or more per night, with some hotels charging more on New Year's Eve.

Hey,
Thanks for your replies. I have found that I can book accomodation for 5 nights and passes for 5 days to disneyland, for £784. This is for 2 people which seems pretty reasonable to me.

The tickets alone cost over £400, so not bad at all.

The only problem I now have is flights. The best deals I seem to be finding from the UK to Orlando (I presume I want to go to Orlando?) is about £2,000.

Update - That price is for staying at the Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. Plus they throw in the magical extras with the price.

Disneyland is in California, DisneyWorld is on the Orlando area of Florida:shrug:

Thanks but i'm trying to cut down on the cost. That website is giving me a figure of £3,000 which is a little bit over my budget.

I thought I may be able to save some money if I booked the flight seperate.

I don't know if I would give up entirely. You may be looking on the wrong day of the week. I know my husband swears by the rates on Wednesday, more than any other day of the week for overseas air travel.

I have no idea if this "rates change by the day of the week" thing is true, but every once in a while I'll hear a news story on TV or some travel expert claiming that this is, in fact, the case.

If this is your dream, I'd say give it a week or so. Check the prices daily.

I do hear great things about Disney in Paris. But hopefully, you'd get warmer weather in Orlando than in Paris - if that was part of what you were aiming for!

Wow thanks for the tip about Wednesday.

I just changed my flight date from Monday 28th to Wednesday 30th and the flight cost is half the price.

I can get flights on the Monday for £2,200, and flights on the wednesday for £1,200 haha. That's really great.

EDIT - The booking says MCO though. Is that Orlando Airport?.

And 1 other question. What would it cost for transport from Orlando Airport to disneyland?

Thanks

Yes, MCO is the code for the Orlando airport. And Disney provides transportation from the airport to your resort if you are staying on Disney property with their Magical Express service.

If you already have reservations at WDW Sports, contact the reservations office where you made the reservations and ask for Magical Express tickets.
That way all your luggage is transported from Orlando to the hotel without you even going to pick it up -- unless you have to clear customs with it.
Even if so, you get free transport to and from Orlando International via Magical Express.
With what you are paying you can use all the free stuff you can get.

Thanks for all your responses.

I've just been looking at other options and see you can get a flight to Daytona Beach (Depart 28/12/2009 and return on 03/01/2010.). The price of this is only £790 from searching on Orbitz.

If I combine this with the £700 ish for the disneyworld accomodation then that's majorly cut down the cost (well a saving of about £1,500 in comparison to booking it on the disneyworld website).

The only worry I have is...Is it possible to get a reasonable price for transport from Daytona Beach to my place at disneyworld. Also is there any other places I could land out within reaching distance?.

Many thanks

p.s. I wish I could afford to just book the whole lot with disney, much more simple. But I'm a bit limited with funds :-(
