We are a family of five, we go to Disneyworld just about every year..in July. Next year we cannot decide where to stay. We narrowed it down to..
family suite at the new Arts of Animation (never stayed at a value)...Poly..or Beach Club. Poly we have stayed twice :) Never at the Beach Club which we would love to try BUT not having a food court is a big draw back. Our dates are July 11th -20th. Any feedback to help us decide would be GREAT. Thanks. Sandy :)

well.......no young kids in this household..yes growing up way to fast!!!!! A family suite at a brand new resort sounds really nice..as i have said on another post....just worry about the brazilian tour groups staying at those value resorts and over taking the food court and buses??? We have never stayed at one so I dont know if its a problem????

I can verify for you ...IT IS A PROBLEM!!!!
We stayed at ASMu Suites this July (17th to 23rd) ...never again during July!
Loved the property/suite BUT inundated with LOUD, RUDE Brazilian tour groups. Truly glad we had our own car... We would drive to the parks if they were ahead of us in the bus lines! Parking is free at the parks for resort guests. Only went to the food court if we had to. Our only reprieve was our table service dining ressie's ... never saw any Brazilian's at the table service restaurants.

Go to Beach Club or Poly & you'll see/hear much less of them

There is a little cafe kind of thing in the Beach Club gift shop that serves fresh made sandwiches and salads. It works as a counter service. We would get sandwiches there and then take them out by the pool to eat. You also have all of the Epcot restaurants a short walk away, so that can help to make up for the lack of a food court.

That is what I have feared :( Thanks for the heads ups, I mean those groups dominate the parks in July so how can they not be an issue at the resorts. This has been a big reason why we have never stayed at a value, maybe off season is a different story!!

My vote is for Beach Club. Try something new! The kids will love the pool. Anyone I know that's stayed there usually says they will never stay anywhere else. Right now, BLT is our spot but we will definitely try Beach Club in a couple more years.

We did see that little quick food area in the gift shop!! Thank you for reminding me :) Love the fact EPCOT is sooooo close!!

I. Our only reprieve was our table service dining ressie's ... never saw any Brazilian's at the table service restaurants.

WHY? Because they are CHEAP.:ROFLOL:

But I must agree with most of the posts here, I would try AoA or Pop. I'm thinking POP just because your kids, no matter how old. will not have seen some of those icons. I think it could be a good conversation starters for you and your kids. And my TRUE feelings about the Brazilians...I really think Disney NEEDS, not should, but NEEDS to do something about them. House them in only ONE value resort and if it full stop taking reservation until a vacancy! I think rudeness is their way of life in Brazil...which is a slap in the face to Brazil! If you are truly concerned about the tour group situation, have you thought about going early December as a switch? The parks are decorated for Christmas and and there are different events like the Osborne Lights, Santas from every country at Epcot, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Christmas Parades, etc. But one word of advice...STAY AWAY ON THE FIRST WEKEND! That's usually when they do the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade taping on Main Street...you have been warned!:ROFLOL: But whatever you decide, just make it suitable for you needs and concerns. One other thought about the tour groups, you might consider staying off property! There are a lot of nice and affordable hotels around. We are planning a December 2013 trip and we will be staying at the Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista, which is monly a 5 minute drive from DTD area/Hotel Plaza area

we have always stayed at the POLY with our kids (twin 6yr old). Before that we stayed at CBr and CS. All three are nice with POLY having the most advantages. I would love to stay at the Beach Club. If a food court is your biggest hang back, just remember POLY does not have one either. At the Beach club you will have a lot mor access (easier) to more restaurants (at the boardwalk. I would give it a try, plus it does have the best theme pool.

We love the Beach Club and definitely think you should give it a try. The shop with sandwiches and flatbread pizzas is convenient for lunch or a snack and it is nice to be close to the Boardwalk restaurants (we like the boneless buffalo wings at ESPN!). Have a great trip and let us know what you decide to book!

Beach Club

Beach Club is such a good location--as someone else said , there are the restaurants at the Boardwalk. also it is easy to walk to Epcot for more eating options!!

With the value resorts I just really worry about all the tour groups during the summer that stay at the value resorts. How aweful is the busing and the lines at the food court????My boys are 12, 15 & 18 so not so young no more :( LOVE the monorail resorts, never tried the beach club and WOULD if they just had a food court. you right though, its always a great vacation at Disney!!

You can walk to Epcot from the Beach Club. Consider the counter services at each country your food court. You can also walk to HS, although there is a boat, and it's a bit further than from the BW (where we stay). If you're going to spend a good deal of time in either Epcot or HS, not having to take a bus is a big plus!

PS: Stormalong Bay is a great pool.
