Help us choose our resort.

My DW, DS, and I are crossing our fingers that we'll get to go to WDW for 6 days/5 nights in the third week of October. We are shooting for the stars and choosing the Deluxe Dining Plan. I wanted to get opinions on where to stay. I don't know the forum etiquette about posting price quotes, but I want the best information I can get, so I'm throwing caution to the wind here. Here are the finalists (Price includes tickets, dining, and flight.)

Wilderness Lodge- $4363.35 We like the fact that WL has the bunk room with a queen bed. Also, the theming looks fantastic.

Port Orleans French Quarter- $3747.75 My DW and I stayed here this past March and loved it. It's familiar, and we know how to navigate, bus schedules, etc.

Polynesian- $4858.41 We've never stayed at a "monorail" resort, but that's the only reason we are thinking about it.

Beach Club Resort- $4683.75 This is my personal favorite. I want to be right there at Epcot, but it is pricy.

The prices are different, but I want the best value for our stay, not necessarily the cheapest. Thanks all!

Well all of these resorts are drastically different. From the sounds of things, though, you have never done a monorail resort, and the Polynesian is a fantastic place to stay. If you aren't that worried about the price tag, I would select that resort for your vacation.Just another suggestion though, have you ever thought about going to Port Orleans Riverside? You said that you loved French Quarter and Riverside is very well themed as well. Plus it would be a little softer on your wallet.

My vote would go to Wilderness Lodge its the best themed hotel in Disney and walking into the lobby for the first time is amazing. Its not a monorail resort but the transport to Magic Kingdom is by boat and lot of fun and for a fun meal ask for the ketchup at the Whispering Canyon! But which ever you go with have I'm sure you will have a great time they are all good in different ways.

Maybe you should read the monorail cut back thread. That might help with your decision. Have fun and am I jealous that you are dropping that much cabbage on your trip.

I vote Wilderness lodge, what about the Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas?

Where to Stay

Your question is a good one, because you offer so many great possibilities. As many others have already advised, one key thing to consider is what park(s) you will want to spend the most time in. My children are well under 10 years old so we like to spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom. Although I have heard good things about the Poly, the Wilderness Lodge theme cannot be beat. Add in the pool and the 10 minute boat ride righ to the gate of the MK and I think you know which resort I would recommend. If you are going with moderate, the Port Orleans French Quarter would be my choice of all of them. The location and theme are incredible. Hope this helps a little.

This. Based on transportation, I'd say take out Polynesian. Monorails won't be running during evening EMH. Also, a slight inconvenience, buses are shared with Grand Floridian and Contemporary. That's an extra stop going to or from any park.

I love Wilderness Lodge. The theming is excellent, and I've never had an issue with transportation. No shared buses, and the buses are pretty good on time.

Beach Club is also a great resort. Stormalong Bay is pretty cool, it's a nice resort, and the location is great.

Port Orleans is also a nice resort, and it's a fairly decent amount lower than the deluxes in terms of price. You're familiar with the resort, so that's a plus.

It comes down to best price, staying in the Epcot area, or staying in the Magic Kingdom area. If it were my choice, I'd go with Wilderness Lodge.

Polynesian. Best atmosphere, great food, most convenient to WDW transportation.

All of your choices are excellent, by the way. I just love the South Seas theme and culture so much that I can't imagine staying anywhere else in WDW now that I've stayed there twice. But it's ultimately your choice, and, no matter what you choose, you won't be disappointed.

Of your resorts listed we have only stayed @ POFQ ...which we LOVED!
Ooops ...forgot I stayed @ Poly back in 1974 ...AWESOME!

I would try a new resort since you have experienced POFQ already.
I would love to stay @ Beach Club or WL ...they both look gorgeous.

Happy choosing:wave:

Our fave resort is WL, but, with the 4 yr. old and if you can afford it, I would go with the POLY. the closeness to the MK with the monorail would be really nice.
