want to meet up with my nephew and his family one day to resort hop to see the holiday decorations. Problem is they are APH and that is a blackout period (they live about an hour away). So would there best bet be to park their car at DTD, take a bus from DTD to our resort (CS) and then we just all hop on a bus together (heading to MK first to tour Poly, GF and CR). Would there be any problem with them using the resort bus since they are not actually staying at the resort???

Your family can meet you at CS. Have them tell the guard they are visiting you and after showing ID they can park in the CS lot. Then you can resort hop together . No worries about using Disney transport, no one will question them.

While driving to DTD, parking there, then taking a bus to the resort than another bus to the park is possible, it will take an hour under the absolute best of circumstances. At the time of year you will be traveling it will take more like two.

The easiest way will be for them just park at the resort you are staying at. However, if you are planning on resort hopping, the easiest way to do that is by car as there is no direct resort to resort transportation save for the monorail loop.

Have them come to your resort and park there. Then take a bus to MK to see the resorts in that area and a bus to DHS to see the Epcot resorts.

Ok, back in I think '08, we drove over to the GF with our own car to see the decorations (we were staying in POR) and the guard in front would not allow us into the parking lot. That is why I plan on using the bus/monorail system. As suppose as annual pass holders, they should be allowed to visit us at our resort without any problems???

Sorry, I did not take into account the time of year you were traveling.

You are going to have problems parking at the monorail resorts given the time of year you are going. The easy way to get around that is make an ADR and eat at one of those resorts. You will be able to park at that resort for at least 3 hours. It will most likely not be an issue at the other resorts. You will however want to park at Boardwalk if you tour the Epcot resorts as the have public parking for the restaurants and night clubs.

Only time I've been turned away from a resort during the Christmas season I was told the resort (CP &FW) had VIPs staying there and resort guests only could enter without restaurant reservations.

Just a little tip, get in your car and drive around Fort Wilderness, the RVers do a fantastic job of getting in the season!
