Okay, so I have these great videos of rides that we took our last trip that I wanted to post and I have no clue how to do it. I know it's suppposed to be saved in a compatible form but how do I do that??? :hammer:Do I need a program to do that because it does not give me the option to save it in a readable/compatible form????

It is a Canon dvd camcorder .. when I rightclick I can open the file, (no save as option) it says it isn't compatiable when I try to upload from the disk :brick:

what is the ending then ?

well I think all DVD cams on the market either record SD (mpeg2) or HD (avchd)

mpeg2 is widely supported by most NLE's for avchd you need an update or a whole new aplication (version)

The bottom line is your camcorder recordeds stuff in a format that isn't compatible with the formats you can upload.

You need to open or import the camcorder files in a program that can then export or save them into other formats.

I don't know what software you have available so I can't tell you which program you already have till do what you want.

You might get more helpful info if you could tell us what the file ending is of the file (as in filename.AVI or filename.MPG or whatever it is) you want to upload and a list of video editing programs you have on your computer. Otherwise any number of us can tell you how to do it but we would likely be explaining how to do it on software you don't have and it would be pointless.
