Please help!! My husband and I are trying to decided between Poly or WL for our Dec trip. The only thing holding me back from WL is that I have heard of the travel trouble. Anybody have trouble with the boat? (I have heard of people waiting 20 min or more to get to MK or get back to WL. Have also heard bus service is kinda hit or miss some days? HELP!!! I think WL would be very pretty at Christmas but if the travel is that much trouble we may stay at Poly.

:veryconfu

Thanks Bunches!!!

We've stayed at the WL several times. I highly recommend it, especially during the holidays (which is when we usually go).

I've never had a complaint about the transportation. I love the boat ride to the MK in the morning. I've felt that I've waited too long for a bus maybe once or twice in all the times we've stayed there.

Of course, when I go on vacation, I refuse to be in a hurry (since I am on vacation after all), so that may help my perception.

We usually stay at the WL. We have never had any trouble with either boat (to MK or Contemporary) or the bus. Sometimes your waits are a little longer than others, but we have never waited 20 minutes. The trips may be a little longer...the boat is shared with Fort Wilderness (we don't mind the ride...its relaxing) and the bus is also shared with Fort Wilderness...these tend to get crowded late at night.

We have also stayed at the Poly...while the monorail is convenient (and the resort is beautiful) the part we didn't like was having to go outside for everything. We got soaked when it rained & the trail is a little tricky late at night...the kids got turned around on the way back from the snack bar. We were in Rappa Nui...one of the farthest, but we were right by the TTC.

I have to go with wilderness Lodge. We are DVC members and always stay there, it is one of my fav resorts anywhere. And, although we have not been there at Christmas time it is supposed to be amazing there. Poly is nice but Wl is warm and relaxing. As for transportation, we have never had a problem from there. If you don't catch the first boat to MK there is always a boat right behind going to the Contemporary. And you can walk or jump on the monorail from there. Like any place timing is everything, even at Poly you can miss a monorail and wait. But you won't go wrong at WL great rest. also. ENJOY!

I'd go with Wilderness Lodge as well. I stayed there last year with absoutley zero complaints. It was, by far, the most beautiful and satifying place I've ever experienced. :)

I haven't stayed at the Poly yet (hopefully in October), but I can't imagine any place being better than WL. Maybe equal, but not better. I loved WL. I stayed for the first time last month and while it was only for a couple days...I have no complaints. I only had a limited amount of time and had many, many things I wanted to do and I honestly never felt like I was waiting around for ages for a boat or a bus. Like someone said above, some of it is timing and luck, but I really enjoyed the transportation. The boat to MK was great. I only used the bus once...to MGM...but it came about 2 minutes after I arrived at the bus stop so...I can't complain.

I've heard good things about the Poly though too, so I'm sure where ever you decide to stay - you'll have a wonderful time.:) The only thing I can say about WL is that I was skeptical at first, but now I really can't imagine ever liking another resort more.

No question: Wilderness Lodge!

The transportation issue is a myth.

What's the difference of waiting for a monorail or waiting for a bus? It's so silly.....

If it was so terrible, the place would be empty. :brick:

Relax! You're on vacation!

HAVE FUN!

Thank you everyone!! I think we are going to stay at WL. It seems very romantic. Esp. if they have the fireplace going. My husband is excited to be so close to Whispering Canyon. I don't think I will be able to get him to eat anywhere else!
