So i'm thinking of going to DL Paris, and wanted to know a couple of things,

-I'm travelling from the midlands in England, whats the best way to travel?
-What tickets should i buy? And where from?
-How long is enough to get most, if not all things done, i.e rides, watching parades.
-Can you go there on your own at 16?
-Has anyone got a map of DisneyLand Paris they could post? :p

Thanks x

Personally, and from Manchester:

We fly direct to Charles De Gaulle, and take the 30 minute shuttle coach direct to the resort (no M6/M1 or French Motorways!)

Staying at a Disney resort gives you length of stay passes

We`ve been for 5 days twice and it wasn`t long enough. Good for a first time visit, but to experience everything at lesiure I`d aim for a week.

No idea!

The easy way... http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=disneyland+paris+map&gbv=2

There are two parks and Disney village all VERY close to each other and most resports so transport isn't really an issue when your there.

I've been by plane and eurotunnel. Plane was nicer and cheaper at the time but neither make a difference. You can get a bus from the airport to DLP or you can get the eurotunnel right into the resort. Both are very easy systems.

-What tickets should i buy? And where from?
Not really sure here - I've always just bought a hotel and ticket package direct from the website.

I went in Feb when it was very quiet. Hardly had to queue for anything. We spent 3.5 days in the parks and we did everything several times. If your going when it's busier then you will want at least 3 days but probably 4 or 5. Bare in mind that if you go during the winter season you might not see the fireworks (and it's cold!)

-Can you go there on your own at 16?
Not sure. You will have to check with guest relations

Thanks everyone :) i asked at First Chhoice yesterday and they said that they did do trips to DisneyLand Paris, then gave me a Thomson brocure *sigh* lol.

They also said that you can go at 16 on your own/with friends of a similar age with parental concent. But i kind of Blackmailed/Convinced Mum to come with me ''Muuuum, if i booked you a spa....would you come with me to DisneyLand Paris? Pleeeeeease?''. Dad didn't need persuading, and my brother, well we can just drag him along at the time. ''Come on, we're going on holiday, get in the car'' might do the trick :p

Philo, what website did you buy the hotel and ticket thingies from? :)

usually get the best deal from the official site, www.disneylandparis.co.uk try and doo like one day less than you want and theyll offer you more days for a less price, it can sometimes be a good idea to pay for a half board for example as dlrp is quite expensive. xxx

The family will enjoy it I'm sure :3

Personally my parents didnt even tell me I was going to DLP till we got to the Eurostar. Was a nice surprise for my 16th birthday XD

Just a tip regarding hotels, be sure to pick one of the hotels on-property. Not only does this give you easier access to parks (via frequently running shuttles) but, if you get breakfast included in the cost as well. You can ask them to arrange it such that instead of breakfast in the hotel you get a buffet Breakfast in the Magic Kingdom instead before opening :sohappy:

Cool thanks :D

So there's shuttles that go to the hotels? Like in DL Florida?
DL? You mean DW? :D

There`s two shuttles; one is the VEA which is a payable coach from the airport to each hotel. The other is the free Disney internal shuttle, like Orlando, which runs from each hotel to the bus station. The station is next to the rail station, both of which neighbour the plaza outside the park entrances. The hotels are a pleasant 10-20 minute walk from the parks anyhow, so unless you have lots of bags, are tired or the weather turns you don`t have to rely on them.

This might help you get your bearings

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=paris&ie=UTF8&ll=48.865505,2.786493&spn=0.029247,0.079222&t=h&z=14&iwloc=addr

You can see that DLP is based inside the big ring

Zoomed in a bit

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=paris&ie=UTF8&ll=48.868356,2.785549&spn=0.007311,0.019805&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr

You can see the lake just to the right of the center. The the building on the east of this lake is the sequoia lodge, to the north is New York. To the West you have Disney Village (the long dark coloured building runs up the main street). Once you've walked through disney village you can see the big white building to the North, this is the train station and just to the east of this are the bus stops.

To the North West you can see the Disney Land hotel which acts as the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. To the South West you have the Studios (much smaller than the MK and I bet that new attractions like Tower of Terror aren't on this yet).

Basically you can see how close everything is, there isn't much need for a bus and I'll bet you will waste time waiting for it. The walk to the parks takes you right through Disney Village which is always interesting.

A couple more links to make things clear (as I'm sure I will have messed my East's and West's up at some point)

Magic Kingdom: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=paris&ie=UTF8&ll=48.872661,2.776151&spn=0.007311,0.019805&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr

Studios: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=paris&ie=UTF8&ll=48.867234,2.779949&spn=0.003656,0.009903&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr

Disney Village (left), New York (top) and Sequoia (right): http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=paris&ie=UTF8&ll=48.868985,2.787555&spn=0.003656,0.009903&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr

Finally, Just helpful hint. In the USA there are two set's of Disney Parks. The first one to be built was Disney Land in LA (west coast) and the other (which the main tourist destination) is Disney World in Florida.

Another helpful hint for philo:
Two sets....
Disneyland
Walt Disney World.
