I would recomend using a good butter over Margarine everytime it really makes a difference
Hold the Phone! Are you trying to tell me you do the cooking/baking in the kitchen..LOL. You've heard of Jamie Oliver " The Naked Chef "...Well my DW calls me " The Smokin Chef "..Not because I smoke, which Ive never done, well apart from the occasional fat one.( medicinal purposes only ) But because when I'am cooking, you can't see me for smoke..;)

@real mad hatter, just found the recipe and will be making them my Dear Hubby can't wait, so tonight we go get the ingredients and tomorrow I get to bake. Will let you know our verdict

Edit: Hmmm this would also make a nice little "Disney Treat" to take on our two day drive down the next time we go

Cheers for that @HouCuseChickie..I did use a margarine, and not a expensive one at that..I will take on your advice on my next bake and let you know..Thanks again..;)

I also pour the sweetened condensed milk on at the end and let it sit for a bit before baking to kind of soak on down to the crust, for some reason I just prefer it this way. These are one of my dad's favorites and I make and ship them every year during the holidays, for him I use the dark chocolate chips instead of the semisweet and he loves that!

Yes, they travel extremely well and are quite tasty! I wrap each cookie individually in cling wrap and they are each fresh as you get to them.

Whoopee! Just a big thank you all for the answers..I made a tray this morning in this order..First the melted margarine & cracker mixture in bottom of tray ( oiled ) Then the sweet condensed milk, then the flake coconut, then the butterscotch chips, then the chopped almonds, then the chocolate chips..Into the oven at 160 for 30 mins...My best yet..When you slice down the cake, you can see the individual layers, but the taste is friggin awesome.P.S. One thing I did do was add some cinnamon to the mixture..Yummy..;)
Was at PORS two weeks ago. First time there. Have to say I had to have this Magic Cookie Bar. Yum! (and they are large enough to share....if you want) Also, wonderful resort. Being from Louisiana, I can say it is true to its theme...relaxing and wonderful.
