Help I'm Stressing

My June trip planning was going along swimmingly until today!:) Last night our local teachers voted to authorize a strike for April and if they go on strike I may not be able to go until next year!:( My dh probably can't move this year's vacation so if they go over 5 days we will have to rebook for next year. So do I hope my dh can reschedule for August and go without my favorite adrs or reschedule for next year and have a real blow out of a trip add a few days and book more adrs. Maybe even get over to Universal for 2 days? They have until April 18th to figure the whole thing out so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! At least if I have to reschedule Mine Train Coaster will be open!

I'm confused. How would a strike in April affect your trip in June? Would you have to make the days up?

As for when you should go, I'd cross your fingers, talk it out with your family and see what's best for you and them.

Good luck with this! I really hope it all works out! I'd be devastated if our trip had to be rescheduled (which it's come dangerously close to a couple of times already).

If you don't get to go until next year, that would suck, missing this year, but it could be a hidden blessing. By saving this year's money to put toward next year, you could have a longer trip, and like you say...more ADRs for even more fun. If you do look at it that way, either situation is a win for you...therefore removing the stress.

That's terrible news. No matter what happens, whenever you do go, you are going to have an amazing time. In the meantime, get in there and fix the strike!

Ohh Figgy!! I do hope it works out in your favor!! But, LulaSue is right. You can go even bigger next year if you have to wait. So don't stress hon take some breaths and it will work out for the best whatever happens:)

Take a breath and give it time. Lots of saber rattling may go on between the two sides, but they ultimately have some time between now and then to find some common ground. There may be a time to worry about it, but you aren't there yet Figgy! My glass is always half full. Worst case scenario, it gets bumped back. You can still pay that trip off like you are going in June and start paying for another, upgrade to a nicer resort, extend your trip, add some tours, etc.. Nothing to do now but try to calm your mind and wait. If you end up getting some lemons, make a delicious pitcher of lemoade.

My solution put me the head of the teachers union and the head of the board of ed in a room with some slushies and margaritas last one standing gets their way! And we all know who will be the last one standing and without a hangover the next morning! That will fix them both!:)

Well Figgy this is a truly sorry situation!:( To wait a month to find out is heart breaking as well! I hate to say it but I would take the boys out of school for the last few days, as long as they were not missing any important testing.If it were me, I don't know if I could wait a year. Makes good sense though! Keep us posted:D

Take our friend, Hatters, advice and drink up! The pixie dust is flying:p
