Help I HAVE A VIRUS on my cpu.

I just scanned again with the website Steve gave us. I have a virus called "PE Spaces 1445". I can barely start up my cpu half the time and when I can I take advantage. It's infecting one file which is C:\_Restore\Temp\A-807559129.CPY. I cant clean/delete/or quarantine the file. HELP HELP HELP HELP!

All i can suggest is to go to Virus.com or Systemtec.com

and maybe they have a virus helper program that you can download to get it away!

They have a 30 day version anti virus program that found viruses on my computer that McAfee and Norton didn't catch....I now use it full time. What do ya got to lose?

Do you know how to use DOS? If so..delete it thru there

The only KNOWN program that can fix it is "Panda Antivirus"

...so you may want to look into that

I downloaded panda and it did the same thing as all the others, no I don't know how to use DOS, it says the file can't be deleted or quarantined because "it is in a compressed file/folder". WTH??? DANG Somebody out there has got to help me. I cant even boot my cpu up half the time.

You try to delete the entire folder? C:\_Restore\Temp\ its a temp directory so no harm can come from killing it...

if it wont let you..right click on it and make sure the attributes arent all funky...

...i have afew other suggestions if this doenst work...but one thing at a time

Tramp you are a CPU saver, that Quick Heal program was the only one that allowed me to quarantine that file, plus it found more infected ones which I cleaned. THANKS A BILLION.

I think I should also mention that according to all virus listing sites, that virus is completly harmless...so that leads me to one of 2 conclusions::

1.) The virus you have is actually something DIFFERENT...but is being read wrong by the virus checkeing programs

or

2.) Your computer problems are completly unrleated to the virus...

I don't know what site you went to but my computer had the exact same symptoms as the one here. I had PE Spaces 1445.

Symantic, McAfee, and about 9 others say that it is generally harmless unless you are on windows 95....i dunno...
