Hi There,

We just in the World in Dec.. and a oppurtinuty came along we couldn't pass up so were heading back there in April. We stayed at the FQ and loved it!! But when we booked the POR was the only one available. Now both are. I have done reasarch and thought the POR looked cool. But my heart wants the FQ ... I am looking for points of view for people that have been to both and what they would suggest.

Thanks for any help!

Either one!

I've stayed at both, and both are great. I like FQ a little more because it is smaller and more compact in the layout, and only one bus stop.

The nice thing is, since they are sister resorts, you can stay at one and use the facilities of the other (pool, restaurant, etc.) It's a short walk between the two, or you can use the boat that goes between the two and Downtown Disney.

Either way you go, enjoy your trip!

I've stayed in both and my opinion is FQ - if for nothing else than the fact that you are the first ones on the bus and the first ones off. Also I like that it is a smaller resort. Have fun!

So If I go with a waterview room, which building is the best for pools - food court and buses?

Thanks for the input:wave:

Don't pay for water view at Port Orleans. It's not worth it.
You will see the water often anyway.

At POFQ everything is rather close. It's a compact resort.
At POR you can request a 'room near the food court'.

We've had good luck just letting WDW pick the room.
Our favorite place is the 'mansions' area of POR. Quiet, great landscaping, very scenic.

Good luck.

French Quarter or Riverside

I have stayed at both and loved both. I have to agree with an earlier post that I would go with the French Quarter, mainly because it is smaller and you get the first bus stop when they share buses. You can also walk between the two and visit the Riverside if you want to. We will actually be back at the French Quarter this July. Good luck with your decision! I think you will be fine with whatever you choose.

Thanks for all the input. I did stay at FQ and loved it but when I first booked this res only POR was avail then the FQ became avail so I thought maybe I would give the POR a try but I really love the size of of the FQ plus their theming is GREAT! So we went ahead and booked a waterview room at the FQ ... I think It will be cool to watch the boats go by on the water. I cant believe I am 45 days out, everything is paid for, ressies are made. What now?
