It can be either. As of late December has run from cool to warm but that can turn on a dime. Check the forecast the day before you leave and plan accordingly.

Yes like Master Yoda said, it can be either. I have gone over Christmas to Jan the last 7 years in a row and last year it was the first time I would say it was cold! First time ever we were glad we brought our winter coats to wear one day while we were there. But I would plan to bring layers and both long pants and shorts/capris and a jacket. We still managed to swim in the early afternoon too.

December of 2010 was one of the coldest I have ever been. 19 degrees Fahrenheit at night. This year, I am going to pack layers.

We were there in 2009. We lucked out with the weather. Most days the high was in 70-80 but one day in the middle of the week the high was 50. I brought twice as many clothes as we usually do-both sweaters and shorts.

We lived 2 hours north of Orlando for 2 years and I can tell you that one December it snowed more than I was used to seeing living up North. Another December I remember having all the windows in our house open. Definitely just keep an eye on the weather because it can be funky! :D

I was there on December 26, 2010 and it was this cold then as we attended the Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom. But Xmas day the kids were swimming in the pool at lunch time. Crazy temps sometimes.

It can and does go either way- but the cold in central Florida is a wet cold, so be sure to pack some cuddleduds (lightweight silk with flannel lined tees), some cheap gloves (try the kind with mittens attached, then fingerless gloves underneath- easy to use the phone or get credit cards out of wallets with these on)- and do bring a lightweight hat. You can always stash some layers as it warms up in the mid-day sun in your backpack or a locker. If you get too chilled, take a break and hop on the monorail or buses to oogle the amazing Christmas decorations at the resorts.

Be prepared for cool morning, with it getting maybe into the 80's during the day but then cooling off at night. Dress in layers, and have a jacket or a fleece for at night and some gloves.

As others have noted- it can be all over the place. I've had Decembers in FL where it's shorts and t-shirt weather and years when it's downright cold. It was very cold (by FL standards) when we went in 2010, but my friends went in Dec last year and it was much more mild.

I would plan on a little of everything, but keep an eye on the 10-day forecast as you get closer to your trip dates. This should at least give you a better idea of where temps are really going to be before you travel.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yes the weather can vary ALOT!! When we went the last time early/mid December in 2009 we had days of 75-80 degree weather, 45 degrees with lots of wind very chilly, and some days of rain. We had every kind of weather in the 10 days we were there. lol We are going back at the same time this year too so i will go prepared again. So my advice pack and prepare for anything. Also keep looking at the weather forcast as you get close to see, but even then we did that and it changed while we were there. lol Typical for Florida weather and Louisiana too where we are from. ;)

I have lived inn FL for 7 years and the folks above are correct a little unpredictable. 2010 it was a very cold December and then 2011 it was hoit in the 80s which is unusual. Dember through early March are generally the nicest times to be in FL. You are goign to have to plan clothing when you get a little closer to your trip. Sorry.

We live a few hours away and generally pack pants and t-shirts for daily wear (we bring a pair of 2 of shorts just in case). Sweatshirts for night time along with hats and gloves. The daytime and nighttime temps can vary greatly so we make sure to have layers.
