so quick brief we are coming in feb 2014 to wdw we do split stay between Disney and Daytona for the nascar races! So heres the fun bit we originally had a 5 nite booking at AOA before we went to Daytona for the weekend then check back in at AOA after weekend and the same the following week so all in all we had 3 stays at AOA and 2 at Daytona!! Now today I decided to change our first stay to one nite at the grand Floridian and do a four nite Bahamian cruise from port Canaveral on the magic! SO EXCITED CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I have some quick questions,
We will be driving to the port and parking there and on return driving straight to Daytona have any of you done the drive from wdw is it easy and how did you find the parking????
What sort of things would you guys do on the day at sea just 2 adults??? also same for castaway cay and Nassau port adventures??????
Also I'm a bit of a fussy eater so the casual dining I think suits me better but which is a must not miss restaurant in your guys minds we have my husband who eats meat and me a vegetarian???
Also out of the shows what would you say is a must do???
Thankyou in advance hopefully you can all help me so excited but not sure where to start with planning on a cruise

Hey! What a great change of plans! We travel as adults only, so hope I can help with some of your questions.

First, for dining. Being vegetarians, we find the dining rooms on all the ships to be a bit of a challenge. I will say the Black Bean Chipotle Cakes in Animator's Palate are the best of the vegetarian entrees (and they are very good at that!). That's a plus, since Animator's is a do-not-miss-if-you-can-help-it dining room. :) If you want to try out Palo (specialty dining at an additional cost), their vegetarian options are superb! I love the gnocchi! And your husband would be able to try the Beef Tenderloin Palo (which used to be my favorite meal on DCL in my pre-veggie days...and it is especially wonderful with the gorgonzola sauce). I will say the Pirate menu is very good as well. (Since you will be on a 4-night, you will have the opportunity to try this menu as well).

Things to do in port - In Nassau, if you are interested in an excursion, we have always been happy with the snorkeling excursions. On our own, we enjoy walking over to Fort Fincastle and Queen's Staircase. Great views from the top of the fort, and the staircase is gorgeous. At Castaway Cay, we find an excursion is not necessary, but have enjoyed Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. We also like to rent bikes for an hour or so to see a small bit of the island.

On the ship on sea day, they will have presentations such as Animation Classes, Drink seminars (mixology, wine tasting, etc.), and the like. These have all been hits with us, and you will be surprised how many options you will have.

Getting to the port from WDW is super easy. You will take 528 (which is a toll road) straight over. There will be signs once you get to the port area directing you to the terminal and port parking. If you are parking right at the port, you cannot miss it!

What date are you sailing?

Good call on splitting with daytona. I usually split WDW/SWO with Daytona races in Feb yearly or fly for just a race or two!

Ooh, we split our first cruise with a race at Daytona! They actually had cruise line busses taking us from parking to the track! It was awesome!

Parking is very well marked and super easy.

Don't miss the nightclubs after dark. The adult variety shows are great, as are some of the other adult shows like Match Your Mate.

I like all the shows. I'd try them all since it's your first!
