Im new here, and have a few questions to ask if thats okay!

My husband and i are taking our 2 children to DLP in September (2 nights, 3 days) but are on a serious budget!

We have found a deal for passes and accomodation (at the cheyenne) for £310(early booker) which we think is fairly good (although i may be wrong) but we are really stuck on how to get there.

The prices we have been quoted for the eurostar and the ferry have been much higher than we expected, and we dont really want to fly (by the way - coming from london)

Can i have some advice on where to get the best offer on travel - and also does it work out cheaper if you get the whole lot in one package? (don't really want to do that - as - like i said, i'm fairly happy with the price of the holiday package)

Also - looking for advice from anyone who has stayed at the Cheyenne before we confirm and book. Is it nice, is the food good, and how far is it from the park?

If anyone could take the time to give me some advice i'd be truly grateful (and any other advice on how to do DLP on a serious budget PLEASE!!)

Thanks so much in advance x

You could try the Santa Fe, it's the cheapest Disney hotel. Just to save on money! Its a nice hotel and for all the time spent in the hotel, it was grand for us! Just a tip! It's directly across from the Cheyenne. Both hotels are 15 minute walk to the parks along the walkway. It's a lovely walk!

Thanks very much emzy much appreciated - however i don't think that that hotel was included in the "early booker deal", so would actually work out more expensive.

Is this directly booked with Disneyland themselves? I have the Santa Fe booked for September on the Early Booker !

Yes, it will be Emzy

I tried to put the Sente Fe in, but when it processed it to give me a price, it didn't seem to take the discount off, and it was more than £90 more than the Cheyenne.

Maybe its just me!!

May i be really rude and ask what sort of price you managed to get?? As i said, i found 2 nights, 3 days for 2 adults, 2 children (6 and 7 ) for £310. Was it better than that??

Thanks x

Can`t help with prices, but can with DLP. You`ll LOVE it!

The Santa Fe and Cheyenne are both the same walking distance (more on the 20 minutes side) from the parks; it also depends on your room (closest or furtherst from the Rio Grande walkway) - you can also get the fast & free shuttle bus. If you ferry / drive you `ll park at the resort - no need to drive whilst there, and the Eurostar drops you at the Station outside the parks - with baggage it`s probably a good idea to get the shuttle bus from here (turn left out of the station for the resort stops)

We've been three times, never stayed at the cheyenne, but have traveled by train, ferry and Eurostar. Having tried all three options, we would definatley use Eurostar again in the future, and we live in Yorkshire! You can't beat arriving right in the middle of the magic. It's worth paying the little extra for Disney's luggage service. This way, you recieve your park tickets on the train, then when you arrive you take your bags to a special drop off point and then head straight to the parks. Disney then transfer your bags to your hotel to pick up later. Then on your last day, leave your bags at the hotel and pick them up at the station just before boarding. The best, hassle free way to visit DLP!

I got 3 nights, 4 days for 2 adults and 2 children for £376. Don't worry you aren't being rude, just hope it helps you on your budget!

Oh yes and do take advantage of leaving your bags in your hotel on your last day so you can enjoy the last of the parks without having to worry about luggage!

Actually we were worried what to do with our luggage on the last day - so that sounds great! Do we sort that out with the hotel before hand??

If you have AirMiles you can use them to book the Eurostar.

Have you considered staying "Semi-offsite". We've just got back from the Holiday Inn which is a 8 minute bus ride to the park entrances, and thought it was great for the price.

Here's some pictures....

The room was a Kid's Suite with a Queen Bed and Bunk Beds (behind the curtains)

Whenever I go to book a DLRP trip, the offsite hotels always work out dearer than Disney hotels, it's so weird and yet Disney hotels give the extra benefits!

beckie- On your check out, just leave your bags in the Bagerie, you just hand them your bags, they put a ticket on them, give you a reciept for pick up and wish you a magical day :)

The prices we have been quoted for the eurostar and the ferry have been much higher than we expected, and we dont really want to fly (by the way - coming from london)

I found flying to be the best method! If you book NOW you will probably get a better deal then eurostar or the ferry! *they depart pretty much every airport! but i recommend personally gatwick :animwink: Return transfers are available from cdg airport via coach and operate every 30 mins stopping off at all major hotels (bar davey crocket - you need to have a car to stay there!). The driver will aid you with the luggage!

Try and book a late flight on the way back, and you can hand your luggage over to left luggage for free and spend a day in the park riding the best rides :)

Also - looking for advice from anyone who has stayed at the Cheyenne before we confirm and book. Is it nice, is the food good, and how far is it from the park?

10 minute leisurely stroll along the river/lake thingy and straight through the disney village! Absoloute bliss in the evenings and EXTREMELY well lit! they also have various birds swimming up and down the river :sohappy:

They also run shuttle buses to the parks every 10 - 20 mins, and the drivers are polite and well organised!

Hotel itself is comfortable - and the service by the cast members is outstanding, also they do pony rides for the kids, and you can hire a pedal kart thingy for 30 mins - 60 mins with the deposit being your pass port!

Id say the only thing that lets it down is the lack of pool! but its a nice chilled out atmosphere, and the coffee machines work flawlessly :p

I didnt eat in the evenings however at the hotel - and spent all my time in the rainforest cafe! however - if your on a budget - DONT eat in the village, it is exspensive for the service and quality of food! :(

If you can do just one meal in the village - go to Cafe Mickey - the food was pretty good, and the characters, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto etc. come in and start congo-ing (is that a word?) around the room and get the kids to join in.

toatlly agree here! that was a bloody good night! only thing id make certain of is to make a table reservation so you wont be dissapointed!

One more thing - don't leave any valuables in your room - we left a mobile phone in a drawer when we were there in 2002 and it was stolen. The staff there were no use, we even went to the police station but that didn't help.

Either get a safe, or keep all valuables on you!

also - theres a sort of square where the trainstation/entrance to disney is - normally theres a old couple with a polaroid camera taking photos of you and wanting you to pay some horrendous amount of money.

Just say NO! and ignore them - dont even bother stopping if they ask you to!

And check out buffalo bills in the evening!

We went as a couple in 04 but we flew from Manchester and went for 4 nights so our price probably wouldn't be particularly comparable anyway, and it was a couple of years ago.

We went to the Steakhouse, Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood in the village, and found them all to be pretty yummy! The kids will love the Rainforest Cafe.

ooh forgot to mention we stayed at the Cheyenne - duh!
We really enjoyed it, loved the theming and occassionally there were cast members dressed as cowboys in the courtyard outside shooting at each other and things which was pretty entertaining. They also do pony rides at an extra cost I believe. We had some teepees outside our window on the ground floor which were cool.
It's just a nice stroll away from the parks, I believe there's a bus that services all the resorts and parks but we never used it.
