Hi there guy's, as this is my first post I would like to say Hi. I am off to WDW in 2 weeks for a 2 week holiday staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first week and at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the second and flying with Virgin holidays. We have been before but this will be our first time with our 4 year old daugher so we thought we would push the boat out with the whole Disney experience.
We used to stay in the Lake B.V area and have been used to the transport to and from the parks, but were wondering how it works at a disney resorts when you want to go to either Universal or Sea world? Are there Shuttle buses or do you have to arrange a cab?
Also has anyone been to the Animal kingdom lodge in the last few weeks? Is the work too intrusive? We are not too worried about it as we will be at the parks most of the day, but it would be nice to have an update.
Thanks in advance for anu input.

welcome.no there isn't any shuttle going to the other parks from disney at all. you can either take a taxi like you stated from disney to other parks, or you could ride the bus from downtown disney to the other parks or if you know what days your going to the other parks you can arrange for a private shuttle to take you there. you can do a search on here for different shuttle services the buses in disney is for disney. have fun.

As mentioned before there are a variety of options for getting to places outside of WDW. If I am not mistaken the most cost effective option is the Mears shuttle and the one that will give you the most freedom and flexibility is to rent a car.

I was at AKL last weekend and the only place I saw or heard construction was from the parking lot. There is also a possibility you might see some construction if you are staying in a few of the Savannah view rooms in the Kudu trail rooms.
