My name is Shelley and I've been a member of this site for about a year but I haven't really been active until now. I've just booked a trip to WDW in December. The last time I was there was 2003 and I'm SO excited that I'm going again. I used to go every year when I was a kid but since becoming an adult, I haven't been able to make a go of it financially. After 5 years of hard work, I am finally able to return to my favorite place in the world. This will be trip #15 for me overall and I'm going with my boyfriend and my parents.
I'm so glad I found this site! I've been reading some threads and getting very good information for my trip. Plus, it's nice to meet people who love Disney as much as I do. The last person I met who loves Disney as much as I do is my boyfriend, Jason. We've been together for 2 years now and this will be our first of many trips to Disney together. We met randomly in a bar (yes, it CAN happen!) in Baltimore. I used to smoke cigarettes and I had a silver Kingdom Hearts ciggie case. He saw it and we started talking about how much we love video games, Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. We're huge dorks
We finally got to talking about our pets and when I said I had a cat he tried to guess the name. I said to him, "You would never know the main character from the Aristocats." He said, "So you named her Duchess?" And that was all folks! He had me (I think I had him around Star Wars).
Disney means so much more to me than just a vacation spot. It encompasses memories from different eras of my life. It reminds me that there is magic left in this world if you look hard enough and believe strongly enough. People need to believe, especially nowadays. I look forward to getting to know all of you and making friends!
