Is the kickoff of Cinderellabration going to be mayhem for all of these days? I arrive on Thursday and plan on just hanging out at the resort for all of the 5th, then doing the parks on the 6th,7th, and 8th, I didn't realize that these were the first days of the "Celebration" but i'm not going to cancel the plans just because of this.

I am going May 2 - 6, and was hoping that it could be a unique visit due to the kickoff of the events with the media there, special events, etc. If anyone finds out specifics of the events that the public can take part in, please advise. My disappointment was that I found out after booking that Epcot closes at 3pm on the 5th. I was hoping to be in the park for the official Soarin' opening celebration, even if it was only open for the press. My thought was to at least be near enough to get an idea as to what was going on. The Mission Space opening event was pretty spectacular and one could easily have seen the fireworks and effects for quite a distance.

I'm goign the 5-9 also. We didnt want to cancel our plans either. It's my daughter's 2nd Birthday on the 6th. Besides I think it will be kind of cool to be in the middle of everything with something this big.

Think of it more as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity then a hassle. You live in FL, so (I'm assuming) you can get to Disney more then most of us.
Go....have fun......take lots of pictures, then post them here! Lol

Did you mean the kick off for the Happiest Cellebration on Earth or just the stage show Cinderellabration? The reason I ask is b/c if you mean the Happiest Cellebration on Earth, then yes, the crowds might be at a bit of an influx, but probably not unbarable. If you meant Cinderellabration, then I don't think that that is going to cause much of a crowd. Since it's being show for previews right now, a lot of people who would want to see it are going now, especially if they live close by. I hoped that helped, otherwise I can clarify later.

4 - 14 May

I will be there 4 - 14 May. I imagine that the first w/e (7 - 8 May) will be more crowded that the weekdays, mostly due to the lucky locals. At any rate, I am looking forward to a festive time!

That's what I meant, sorry for the typo.

And I guess like someone said, I shouldn't complain, some people have to wait every three years to go to Disney, I go 4 times a year, i'll just enjoy it and take lots of pictures.
