We have been thinking about heading to the world for a few years now to see MNSSHP, and today we finally made that commitment! Heading down on Thursday, Oct 17 for a long weekend. Coming back Monday, Oct 21. We have always said we would love to get there for Halloween and decided this was the year. We will be doing the parties on Friday and Sunday, Oct 18 and 20. Doing it twice just because we have never been at that time and dont want to miss anything. And as the kids get older, Im not sure it will be all that easy to miss too much school. We are staying at the Contemporary (the kids favorite). ADRs to follow this post!!! Very excited. :)!!!!!! Only bad thing is we need to take a connecting flight from Philly since my wife and I will be working a full day on the 17. We have already decided, we won't be doing our fast pace. We are going to enjoy the MK and the party. (But Im sure we will head to Epcot and AK for our favorites attractions and food!!!)

October is a great time to go. I agree fully with DisneyDeb, weather and crowds are not too bad plus Food and Wine! I will actually be there the same weekend as you. I am so excited, I love the Food & Wine Festival.

Have a great trip!

Same here, although this year we opted for the first week and a half of November, but it's such a great time of year. Weather is wonderful, crowds arent too, too bad and MNSSHP and Food and Wine :) What's not to love?!?!?!? ;)

Agreed! It's my new favorte time to go. For a few years it was during the Christmas season, usually right after Thanksgiving. Then, back in 2010 I went during October and haven't looked back. It's the Food & Wine Festival that calls to me in October -- although last year we had a great time at MNSSHP. (Even got in the spirit of things and went in costume: Herbie and the Thorndyke Special.)

To the OP: enjoy the trip! And get over to the F&W Fest for a bit. :)
