Having purchases sent to room?

So I've been told that instead of caring around a bunch of bags all day, you can have your park purchases sent to your room.

How exactly does this work? You just ask the cashier to have it sent to your room?? Do all stores in the park do this?

Thanks!

It's actually sent to your resort. You have to pick the delivery up at the resort gift shop. When you purchase in the parks and ask for this service, the cast member will fill out a slip and give you a copy. You then present this slip at your resort gift shop to get your purchase.

Depending on how much you buy, what you buy, and the size of things that you buy, it may be easier to just ship everything home.
I had a few items sent back to the resort, but shipped everything to home from Disney Springs. Bonus- when we arrived home it was there waiting for us. It was fun to open and go thru it all again!

But be aware that your purchases won't be available at your resort gift shop until the afternoon of the next day. Also, the service won't be available if your check out is less than 48 hours away. In that case, you might be able to have your purchases sent to the package pick up spot at the front of the park, for pick up at the end of the day, as you exit the park.

Its a great feature especially if you are purchasing a lot of souvenirs or you want to buy something thats bulky. I always ship home anything thats breakable or costly because Disney will replace for damaged goods, that way I'm not fretting about getting fragile things home. Sometimes Disney offers free shipping which is even better because you can get boxes of Disney stuff after you return home from your trip and not pay extra for it.
You will get a message on your resort phone telling you that you have a package waiting for you in the resort gift shop. When you go to pick up your packages you will have to bring your copy of payment slip with you and they will check your ID as well. .

We only use the front of the park option and home shipping. Too much of a hassle sending it to the resort shop. We don't have a stroller any more (Not since my son was 4) so we have nothing to put large purchases in and we don't want to carry them. Front of the park is great. Just don't forget you sent things there. :D

I've used both front of the park, and resort gift shop pick-ups and they both worked perfectly. Nice not to have to lug my Gaston stein around the park.

One thing I don't understand about the process is, if you're a resort guest, odds are, you've got a magic band or at very least, a KTTW card. Why they cannot just scan that card and print out a completely filled form for the deliver process is beyond me? That massive green form that you must fill in by hand which the retail location then staples 34 times to seal up the bag is such a bottleneck for the cashier.

We have used it often, and as pointed out, it is some what of a pain to fill out all of the paper work and then wait at your resorts gift shop to pick up, it is still better than carrying stuff with you all day. Our last trip we we used the shop disney park app, they had 10% off plus free shipping home, which was very nice. Also, if you want to avoid any of the lines at the gift shop you can buy it on your phone and then pick it up at the front of the park.

Possibly because then you the guest, the store making the sale, and the clerk at the resort who gives you the bag all end up with a counter signed form detailing what is in the bag? And this way they use one form/one process for front of park, resort, and ship to home methods of delivery?

Everybody beat me to pretty much everything, so I'll just chime in with we use the service a lot and love it. Minor pain going to the lobby to get the stuff, but way less of a pain than carrying it all day.

...also you buy more stuff... soo.. yea... be careful. :p

The green form already has the itemized purchase details, all I'm getting it is all the resort location and other things you write in, which are known by WDW and certainly available with the KTTW or band, can be automatically printed into the form as well.

Scanning admission would still allow all of this. The filled in form would be printed and signed. Resort and even home address could be pulled directly from the account.

I am guessing that this will happen eventually. They have to update their POS systems to print the information, maybe upgrade the receipt priner as well. Maybe they have a wharehouse full of those green forms that they have to get rid of first. That, and a forests woth of paper padding that they have to wrap everything in.

this seems like a great idea. I'd imagine there is an extra cost associated with delivery to your home?
