Having Florida friends visit us during our stay

I have a close friend who lives in Orlando as well as another close friend and her husband who live in Tallahassee. They both want to see me while I'm in Florida.

Our flight lands in Orlando at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 27 and we are taking the shuttle to Coronado Springs (we will check in when our room is ready). We then have park tickets Tuesday, April 28 through Saturday, May 2; and are flying back home early Sunday, May 3.

On that Monday we will have the whole day to explore the grounds and resorts and go to Downtown Disney. We want our friends to be able to meet up with us and hang out or share a meal. My Orlando friend might meet us later in the week for a meal. None of them will have park tickets.

I understand Downtown Disney is a non-issue, but are we allowed to take them around the Disney property to have a meal at any of the resort restaurants or go the pool at Coronado?

Also, where is best place for them to park? Any location have free parking?

Has anyone else done this? Had an Florida friend meet up with you on your Disney trip?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Your friend can park at the Coronado and meet you there. They just tell the security host that they are visiting you at the resort. You can all meet at any resort actually by telling security that you are meeting friends for a meal.

The above poster is correct. I have family in the Orlando area, and they have come to our hotel from time to time if we want to visit privately before going to dinner in the park. They aren't pool users, so I can't address that aspect. The official policy is registered hotel guests only, AFAIK.

We have also had guests visit us for a pool day. As long as you are with them and someone in the group and a resort ID or two I don't think they will bother you. Disney is really looking for pool crashers more than anything

I don't think the Coronado pool is a major "crasher" destination, unlike the Epcot Resorts and MK Resorts. ;) When we stayed at BW and B&YC, the quiet pools were pretty much empty.
