Twice. It's definitely pricey. But, in the concierge lounge, you get complimentary breakfast, snacks, sodas, beer/wine and appetizers at dinner time. You also get a private check-in area and concierge, which is definitely nice.
A few summers back we stayed at WL Concierge. It's really about the experience of feeling "elite" for lack of a better word. The rooms are the same size- unless you're going Presidential. We had a great balcony view over the pool area. We could see Bay Lake and the water pageant from the room. We had never experienced the whole "key in the elevator to access your room". That was fun! The best was pulling up to the security booth after 20 hours on the road to hear the guard call up and say "The
---------- Family is here!" When we pulled up- they were rushing to our car and greeting us by name. They swept us straight up to our room and told us to stop at the conceirge desk on our floor to check in at our convenience. After 20 hours in a car- it was nice to chill for a while before taking care of paperwork.
The great thing for us was the complimentary breakfast, snacks, sodas, beer/wine and appetizers at dinner time. We don't use the food plans and this saved us HUGE amounts of money. (which incidentally paid for the room.)
Like I said- concierge is all about the experience. Aside from what I mentioned- everything else was just a regularly fantastic trip at the WL. We love it there- concierge or not.
We are actually staying at WL Concierge this upcoming July trip. Never been to WL before, not to mention never tried the concierge at any resort! So needless to say, we are excited = ) From the pictures and reviews, it looks like a great place to stay.
WL is a great place to stay concierge or not! We love the pool. There's nothing like hearing that water cascading into the pool. There are great activities (look for the Duck races for the kids). Roaring Forks has great salads/sandwiches. The boat service has even improved. (They used to share with FW. Now they each have their own boats.) Lots of quiet nooks to hang and read/relax.
Course we could be biased toward WL. We do live in a log cabin at home!:animwink:
WOW, sounds great. We are staying at the AKL and I wonder will we be treated the same way. Do they have private check in also. It will be fun being "taken care of" for a few days. Hubby and I love cruises for that reason.
i have not stayed at wilderness lodge but a few weeks back we were upgraded at the grand floridian to concierge level and this video is a tour of the area where the snacks were set out for us..if wilderness lodge service is anything like this then it will be brilliant...
We stayed on the concierge level last year at the WL. We usually stay at the WL (9 of the last 9 years).
Last year was the first time we tried concierge.......we enjoyed ourselves so much last year, I booked us again this year for 10 nights WL concierge in September!
I've stayed at every concierge on property with the exception of the Poly which I will be doing in Oct and the Contemporary. I like the concierge level especially if it gets too hot in the parks and we need to go back to the resort to chill out. They have some sort of food to snack on in the lounge along with drinks throughout the day and evening.
I have stayed in Concierge about 5-6 trips. I love it every time. Take advantage of the perks, like the wine and snacks. The Continetal Breaksfast is always noice as well.
