Have you or would you dye your hair a fun color?

My sister has been getting bright blue streaks in her hair for YEARS.

One time I went blonde but after a couple months decided I wanted to go dark again so I put dark purple streaks in my hair and then after it faded dyed it all dark.

Currently I have black hair and while I love how I look I'm in the phase of wanting a change of some kind and that change cannot be cutting it because I'm in the process of trying to grow it out from a short cut so I want to get it back to being long before I decide to chop it short again lol.

But anyways I was thinking about "sunset hair" which is basically an ombre from purple to pink to orange to maybe yellow.

This got me curious as to if anyone on here has ever done a fun color or would ever consider doing a fun color?

No, not my style to wear a bright color contrast. The only exception would be if there was a temporary spray-in color, that would simply wash out afterwards. (That might be fun for a change, for just a day or two, but I wouldn't want it beyond that.)

I know that some people love colorful tones, so if that's what you enjoy, by all means go for it! :)

My hair is either dark brown, burgundy, purple or black cherry depending on my mood. That being said seeing your hair is currently black do not lighten it yourself unless you're a professional or you can do MAJOR damage. Chances are to achieve what you want will probably take at least 3 sessions to get it light enough to do what you want. By major damage I mean major. My idiot sister had smoke coming from her hair before rinsing whatever carp she used out. She rocked a very short pixie for months and had to have a conditioning treatment a couple of times a week to be even able to keep that much hair on her head.
Rock on!

No need to worry. I have a stylist and she is always cautious.
I'm not one to bleach or do crazy things myself.
I also have very healthy fine hair that lifts and colors very easily.

I love the idea of sunset hair! It’s beautiful when done well and it sounds like your stylist would do it well. I haven’t had colorful hair in many years, but I’ve done red, blue and purple in my past. My sister currently has cotton candy pink hair and it looks awesome.
Post pictures when you’re done!

I currently have the center 6" of my head dyed flesh color. It defines me and I will never go back. I did for many years dye my beard dark brown which came out salt and pepper, but decided that it wasn't stopping my aging process so I gave it up. My beard now is snow white but what's non-flesh color that remains on my head is still salt and pepper mostly pepper. Which is actually weird for my advanced years. But, I will take whatever I can get.

My two daughters are both in their approx. mid 40's The youngest does the dye process but the older one is going natural. When I see the amount of grey she has I feel like I must be nearly 100. I wish she would take my feelings into consideration. But, No!! After paying for her College, (some of it) and paying for her wedding and sending her for a week long honeymoon in WDW it seems to me that is the least I could expect. Kids, I tell ya! No gratitude at all!

No. I never did. I have no plans of dying what hair I have left. My dad and my younger brother have also have bald spots and they don't dye their hair either. My dad has some gray, but people should expect that due to my dad's age.

Mom doesn't dye her hair. My mom does not have hair dye products and the person who does her hair does not bring hair dye along either. She does not not have gray hair, but don't ask me how she pulled that off without hair dye outside of genetics.

Not unusual really. When my wife passed away at age 76 she only had a few strands of grey and she never dyed it. Yet, her daughters both are starting to accumulate a good sized collection of it.

Update...
I'm a little bummed because I asked my stylist and she said I have too much black over black over black at this point to bleach my whole head light enough in one session and she hates to bleach hair multiple times because after the second time it really starts to look damaged. Basically if I had no previous color in it she'd be fine doing it because it would be one bleach and could probably even be accomplished with a quick bleach wash vs saturating the hair in pure bleach.
She did say she is willing to do streaks because its just small sections of hair that can more easily be saturated and incubated with foils to really strip the color.
I may take her up on that but I don't think I'd do purple, pink, and orange unless she can still do ombre color in the streak. But if Its going to be a purple streak, a pink streak, an orange streak then I may just opt for pink.
