Have you ever tried?...

I know this sounds ridiculous and/or stupid, but has anyone ever called the reservation line and asked to be put on hold so you can listen to the music? I like listening to Disney music on the live stations, but for some reason the crackly music on the phone is mesmerizing to me.

@draybook No, but the thought has crossed my mind on at least two occasions. I was already on hold and groovin' to Grim Grinning Ghosts when the CM on the other end assisted me with my question. It was at that point I thought about being put on hold.

I'm going to be the odd ball here and go I hate the hold music. The quality is so sub par that it's not even worth listening to. There is so much static and distortion I don't find any enjoyment from it. It's sad as well that the announcement man has better clearer sounding audio then the music.

I look up YouTube videos of the music they play in different parks and listen to them on my laptop while I work. They have Magic Kingdom and Epcot entrance music, I love it...and I can listen to the music from the Star Corridor in Space Mountain for hours, it's so relaxing.

In my line of work I get to be on hold with many different types of companies/offices. In my experience only two large companies have decent hold music.. Disney and Apple. Disney for obvious reasons and Apple because they play actual music from a couple of genres.

I wonder if it's because you associate it with trip planning and anticipating that trip. :)

Mouse Radio, Disney CD's are listened to in my house, business and vehicle. But no...I'll draw the line there. I hate being put on hold for any amount of time ( even when it's a Disney song ) and I'd never request it. Thats why DW calls to make the ADR's, she can tolerate the extended holding pattern better than I can.

Try D-Cot I listen to that almost everyday
We also listen to it every single day, multiple times. They have everything except the Tomorrowland music. It was there for a brief time. It's great listening to the monorail resort loop, Castaway Cay (on a snowy day) or the French music from Epcot in the background of my French classes!

Can't say I've ever done that. If anything the last time I was put on hold, I was begging for someone to pick up (only because they were playing "For the First Time in Forever"). If I want to listen to Disney music be it movie/tv/theme park related....I just pull out my MP3 player.

Edit: speaking of which, I was in the middle of cooking dinner when I found this post...now I have a sudden urge to listen to the Soundsational Parade while I finish pealing the veggies:P

We need time for things to happen.
I get the nostalgia part of what you're saying - you're usually waiting on hold because you're about to plan \ book something completely awesome, so there is always that connection with hearing that crackly on hold music - plus it's fantastic music that also has connections to the rides we love and will be enjoying (not soon enough).

With that being said.... most times the static is sooooo bad it sounds like they dropped the speaker in a glass of water and turned the volume to 10.
It ends up having the reverse reaction with me - I can't wait to book something awesome, but I have to wait and listen to some of the greatest music around through a glass of water...GRRRR:mad:!

Totally get where you're coming from though.
