Have you ever stopped a ride?

I remember a very embarrassing moment on Haunted Mansion where I tripped over a water bottle while getting out of the omnomover and they stopped the ride even after I begged them not to. Has anyone ever had a moment like this in the parks? I guess that ride can give people nightmares.

Unfortunately yes, a couple of times when my wife had to use an ECV and the CMs told her she should take it on, even though she could transfer with no problem, we broke Monster's Inc. and Journey into Imagination to the point that they both had to evacuated.

I have also taken too long to get into Space Mountain at DL before the remodel and caused them to have to cycle everyone through, so everyone that was currently on the ride (including our vehicle) to have to reride to prevent having to evac the ride.

My brothers and I were on SplMtn and decided to take our shirts off for the picture at the drop and they stoped our log on the uphill and told us to put them back on before they would restart the ride.

Your funny LOL.

I took my shirt off once just for the drop because it was cold out and I didn't want to get it wet and I ended up being one of the bears causing a disturbance down the river.

i was sitting in the front row of everest at at the first track switch where the tracks are 'broken" I was squiring around trying to get a better look, kinda popping out of my seat. A little while went by and they came over the speaker and told me to remain seater

Mission:Space had to shut down because my seat restraint wouldn't lift up. I had to wait for maintanence to take the back of my seat off and release it.

Someone in my group nearly did...on Space Mountain she was getting off the ride and dropped her purse right in front of the coaster car (!!!) Luckily they were able to retrieve it right away and no harm was done.

Although not entirely related, I've been guilty of swinging the ride on Soarin' while they're loading guests, and been told not to swing...it's fun though!

Does it count if I was the one pressing the stop button? :D

If so, yes, more times than I would have liked to.
I was thinking the same thing. :) Though, I've never pushed the Big Shiny Red Button of Power during normal operation--just during power up and power down procedures. I did cause an intrusion once while I was working, but before I was in attractions. I've also taken Safaris 101 before, though it was really the fault of the ostrich who stood in front of my truck and refused to move.

I never stopped a ride but there were 8 of us, ranging from ages 9-65 and we were leaving the stretch room in the Haunted Mansion. Four of us were holding hands to stay together and upon leaving the stretch room, I tripped and brought the other three who were holding my hands with me down on the ground. We didn't stop the ride but were the first ones to get on it since everyone stopped and gasped when they saw us fall. We laughed the entire time we were in the Haunted Mansion!

During a youth group trip to IOA someone in my log at Dudley Do Rights decided they wanted to move seats while it was going up the lift. The ride stopped immediatley and a nice voice came over the PA system reminding everyone to stay seated.

Pushing the "Big Shiny Red Button" is a great feeling ;)

Two times:

1 - My brother stuck his foot in the sliding door on Horizons (I loved that ride) to see what would happen - well we stopped in the huge movie screen room and had to walk on the cat walk to the beginning. My parents were in another car and could see us exit and walk - if looks could kill!!

2 - We were on Motion and my little sister wanted to switch seats with me -I was in the front middle; she was in the back middle. She climbed into the front and I slid into the back but got caught in the middle - of the seats as we were making the incline up the outside loop!! LOL My butt was stuck between the rows!!

Well it was not at WDW, but I was at IOA with my sister getting ready to ride Dueling Dragons. ( I don't like big roller coasters, but I went for my sister)We were strapped in and everything. They were getting ready to let us go when I sort of had a panic attack and started crying, saying I did not want to ride. They had to lift the restraints to let me out.

As many of you know, Fire and Ice are supposed to be launched at the same time, well, because of me, Fire had to go without Ice.... :lookaroun

I was SO embarassed!

TOT. As my daughter and I were being seated. The first sign that she had contracted the Norwalk virus became evident and it wasnt pretty. We were quickly taken out through the backstage area. I feel sorry for the janitorial staff and the other passengers. I wish I could have helped.
My wife contracted it a day later and had to stay in the hotel for two days.

You probably have stopped the red button for me a couple of times because I am always tinkering with my camera LOL. One time when I was 12 I was on Spaceship Earth and I almost took an extended ride back into the loading dock shutting off my camera. I bolted my butt thru Global Neighborhood like the place was on fire I was so embarrassed.

Me my dad and my best friend are all a little over 6 feet then add my sister, my mom and their pocket books so I had that issue in the Safari truck in Animal Kingdom. He was calling me out on the loudspeaker and knowing I can get stuck in my own world very easily I had no idea until after a good 30 seconds. He was a cool tho so it all worked out okay LOL.
