Have you ever seen a DUI checkpoint on property?

We were recently leaving EPCOT and the people a couple of cars down from us in the parking lot were getting into their car and the driver (or any of them) were in no shape to drive after "drinking around the world". Has anyone ever seen a DUI checkpoint on property, especially at the end of the night leaving EPCOT? I can only imagine the number of people driving out of there who would blow over....

Disney controls where and when law enforcement goes while on property. This is because all of the roads are privately owned and maintained by the city of Bay Lake, which Disney owns and they contract with local Leo's There wouldn't be a major DUI checkpoint as you would see if some cities because it ruin the "show". At least until a major incident changes this.
Same as you rarely see any speed traps in guest areas. Typically those are only set up on more cast traveled roads. More rare then that would be giving a guest a speeding ticket.

Kinda curious where you got the information that Disney controls where and when law enforcement goes while on property?

Seems like a weird thing to attempt to defend by stating things like absurd or redirecting attention to a completely separate problem. Why is anyone attempting to defend drunk driving. What's absurd is killing people while under the influence and, yes, as a separate topic... texting is no better. Besides it was just wishful thinking no one is planning a shooting squad. However, people are driving drunk, killing people and texting people are doing the same. Now that's absurd!

They don't literally tell them where to go in the classic sense. But the policy's and enforcement is directed. Think about your local city...the mayor for example may push for cutting down on speeding and direct the police to spend extra resources and time on that subject. WDW has that same sway they contract out services with the OCSD (legally they could have there own police department but they decided not too) all the roads and such are essentially private property the RCID has its own special powers.

Think of all the drunks leaving epcot on any given festival date.

If you drink too much, you can leave your car in the lot. Get it later. Easy.
No doubt. There is no excuse.

Just for fun I looked to see how long of a cab ride you could take for what a single DUI will cost you by the time you were done with fines, legal fees, increased insurance premiums etc.

On the low end you can take a cab From Miami to LA for the cost of a single DUI.

Barbara Eden+? Bring it!!
Yikes, that got dark real quick. I still think we should invent senors in cars that detect if you have had anything to drink and if you did, it won't allow you to turn on your car.

They exist but are relatively easy to bypass. There are plenty of verified accounts of drivers having someone else blow into the device to defeat the interlock.
