Yeah, Karim...not exactly the best way to start out on the forums, ya know?

Anyway, probably the rudest CM I've ever encountered was at China. I was in the big store there when I was about 11 or 12 and there was a table covered in all kinds of little knick-knacks. So I picked up this little plastic toy and was looking at it and the elderly Chinese woman working there said something like "Don't break that!"...or something to that effect. Her tone was quite rude. I couldn't believe it! I was just holding the thing and looking at it! And it wasn't even worth 10 cents, so it wasn't like it was some priceless treasure or something. I stewed over that for the rest of the day.

YES! This was about 5 years ago, We were leaving MGM (me, my parents, my husband, son), it was about 3 in the afternoon and we got on the nearly-empty bus to head back to the Poly. to relax for a couple of hours.

As we were sitting there with another family that boarded also, my dad struck up a conversation with the man in the other family and they were discussing how Disney must be a great place to work and just what a clean, wonderful, family place it was to come to etc, etc.

Well, the busdriver stood up and felt he had to correct these two guys who thought that Disney was a great place to work. He went on a tirade about how the workers are so underpaid, that some work full-time and are starving or can't make ends meet because of Disney's horrible treatment of it's CM's. Well he finally sat back down and started driving and the entire way to the Polynesian he never "shut up". He worked all over WDW doing different things and the pay was horrible everywhere he worked, so he began driving the bus because the pay was a little better, he went on and on about the benefits they get and how bad they were and the retirement plans and how horrible they were. My dad and the other guy were laughing quietly.

Ugh, talk about a big downer - we couldn't wait to get OFF that bus!!

In May last year the 3 of us were going into MGM at opening time. My friend went in first she got in fine, then my second friend had comp. tickets being a travel agent, the old hag started saying "right hand" we looked at her and didnt know what she was talking about "RIGHT HAND!!!" she was getting mad so we asked what about the right hand? She said "you have been in already I want to see your stamp or you can not come in!!!" since the parks had just opened and there was no way could have been in this seemed odd. She instructed us to go and see Guest Relations so we did while our friend waited in the park. The guest Relations asked for ID and we had none so he started to question us like he worked for the FBI even asking me how I had got to the park! I explained it was not my ticket but my friends. He was so rude also and after 10 minutes of working out when the comp. ticket had been issued it was in the correct name and this man said it was in a diffrent persons name and had been used in MK 10 mins before (stupid considering it would be hard to get in and out of MK then over to MGM in 10min!)

Anyway when we got back to the UK we complained to Disney and they were great they sent 3 one day park hoppers and phoned me a few times to get things sorted out. It didnt put us off as we went back in November for 3 more weeks :D

(btw, this is the wrong forum for this thread)

COUNT THE BODIES LIKE SHEEP TO THE RHYTHM OF THE WAR DRUMS!!

A perfect circle rules...sorry, this is WAY off topic.

I've never really had a weird CM...and I certainly was never weird or rude back in the day! heh

i was getting on the bus at mk for the trip back to sports. a couple of teengers went in the rear door, when the driver saw that, he started yelling at them, at the top of his lungs, to get out of the bus and get on line like everyone else. granted those kids did the wrong thing, but i think the driver went overboard yelling at them.

I haven't experienced a rude cm, but one time in the WWoD store in DTD, there was this real disgruntled employee. Checking out, all he did was complain about Michael Eisner and his job. Now I don't have a problem with his opinions, but when he is on the job as a Disney CM, he is supposed to act cheerful as if there was no outside world. He was just one disgruntled worker.

There was one time that I was riding up front in the monorail, and the driver didn't say two words to me. She was just kinda creepy. There wasn't anything overtly rude about her, just a weird "vibe," and certainly un-Disneylike.

If "perky beyond all reason" counts as weird, yeah I've run into a few of those, too, though they don't bother me too much. Of course, I've been accused of being too perky at times while working, so I'm not in any place to talk. :D

My experience was Very similar to Dizknee's. We were in the China pavillion in '98 I think and the rear of the main shop on the left was mainly tables full of trinkets. The CM there was very short in his responses and offered no real help for the item for my mom I was searching for. In any other environment I would have dismissed it and forgotten it as soon as I left. I guess we all just get accustomed to such great service in WDW we forget how hard most of the CMs work to make our stay so memorable.

I say thanks to those 99% and chalk the rest up to bad luck.

My wife and I got yelled at by a bus driver once because we didn't know that the West End bus top had closed.

After we didn't get off at Pleasure Island the bus driver ask us where we were going and we said "The West End".

He yelled..."dammit! You should have gotten off at the last stop!"

He had to drive back to Pleasure Island again and he wasn't too thrilled about it.
We thanked him profusely when we got off the bus but he just mumbled something under his breath.

Luckily we were the only ones on the bus.

I just figured the guy was having a bad day.
I wouldn't want his job.
With all those bus drivers have to put up with, they're bound to let off steam some time.

I just felt like an idiot for not knowing about the West End Bus stop closing.

Seems like the Bus Drivers get the bad rap here

Unfortunately for them, my story is about a Bus Driver as well.

About 3 years ago we were waiting at the AK bus stop for the Bus to MGM. It was about 10:30am (we had gone to AK just to ride the safari in the morning and hit Dniosaur) and the bus stops were pretty empty. It was my Mom and Dad and Sister and me, plus one other family of 4. The bus finally came, and I started to get on, when the little girl, probably 8 or 9, in the other family dropped her backpack and spilled some stuff on the ground. We got on, and the parents started to pick up the stuff and put it back in her bag. The bus driver closed the door and took off.

My sister asked him why he didn't wait, and he gave no response, and said nothing the whole trip.

We never saw the family again on the trip, but I hoped they called Guest Relations.

I have video of a rude emplyee, he goes by the name of Donald Duck. It was in 1986 on my second trip there....I was 6 years old. My parents were behind me while I was waiting in line for an autograph, once I got to him I was ready for my big moment. Being 6 I was bugging the duck poo out of him and he got ed. Bopped me on the head and made the gesture of cutting the neck. Or as to say shut him the heck up. I'll never forget it, and I have the proof. I always think back to myself and say that alot has changed since then.

Always say this in these threads...

I just wanted to say what I always have to remin myself to say in these threads, for every bad CM experience, there are 400 good ones.

Just a quick story.

I am overwieght, and when I go to a spa, there is never a big enough robe for me, which means I have to wear a swmisuit around all the time, which is embarrassing. On my last trip my wife and I went to the GF spa for massages. I called about a week before to request an oversized robe. When we got there about 1 hour before our massage to relax in the jacuzzi, there was no robe my size in the locker room. Oh well, I said to myself. I got in the shower, and when I got out, there was an oversize robe on the bench with a little note from the CM saying that Goofy was late on his delivery route that day, signed "M. Mouse." This is the WDW experience we all want and hope for. And 99 times out of 100, it is what we get.
