Have you ever come across an Alligator on your Disney trip?

Whats your story...
The night before I left for home I decided to take a walk onto an island in the center of a pond at the resort I stayed at. It was all grass, garden and a golf hole and a nice wide bridge to it with a walkway. What would be so scary about that, I see something in the water and thought nothing of it but started to creep myself out, I go to take a look and I find myself 3 feet away face to face with an alligator bigger than me. This thing was between me and the bridge and I found myself running zig zag. I look back and the lazy thing is in the same spot, never moved, I could swear it was laughing at me and looking at me like I was crazy.

A few years ago, while staying at Wilderness Lodge, I had an interesting conversation with another guest. He told me he had gone out for a pre-dawn cigarette on the wooden walkway. He lit the cigarette and heard a swishing noise behind him. When he turned around, he saw just the tail of the alligator while it slid off the walkway back into the water! Said he completely freaked out and ran in the opposite direction! I told him that maybe this might be a good reason to finally quit smoking. ;)

Yup - have seen several during our yearly visits to WDW. Usually basking in the sun early in the morning along the various waterways (especially along the highways in the park). I asked cast members about them and they said that Disney usually trys to relocate them away from guest areas when they can.

Yup. Early morning walk last year at Coronado Springs. We saw a small two footer in the shallows while we were walking across the bridge that goes to the main building. It is one of mine and my daughters favorite things to take a early morning walk together and look for wildlife like turtles, geckos, birds, squirrells and in this case a small alligator with a broken tail that made a thirty degree turn about halfway down it's length.

yeah, they used to be baby ones around tom sawyer island. I told my parents and they were like. "Ermm, you sure." then they saw them later trying to get some baby ducks. :( I haven;t seen any since. Think that was in 2005. Not sure how Disney handled that one.

Before I realized that they were around I was up early one morning, about 4:30 and couldn't sleep. We were staying at FQ and I took a walk along the river behind the resort. Here I am in the dark walking near a river where alligators probably are.

Back when I was there in the 80's and early 90's I ran into them a few times. Once a baby went into the pool at the resort we were staying at. The second time it walked right in front of us at Chef Mickeys when that was in Downtown Disney.

My first morning of my Disney College Program I was living at Vista Way right off of 536 and was walking the grounds with one of my roommates and saw one basking in the sun in a small pond behind our apartment. It wasn't big or anything but definitely a cool welcome to the state thing to see.

I sooooooooooo wish!! I always have my nose plastered to the window in our car/bus/monorail (ferry too) straining my eyes as hard as I can trying to see one! I love alligators, crocodiles, and sharks!

At the beach I spend the whole time staring as far out as I can trying to glimpse a dorsal fin! Hahaha!

Never seen one in the wild :/

FIL saw one golfing while volunteering for the Special Olympics team that was taking place at Orange Lake!! I was so jealous!

The most we've seen in the wild were lizards, snails, frogs, cranes, and a turtle!

We saw one at Animal Kingdom just hanging out by the drums. A cast member was standing guard until animal rescue could come. The funny part was a few feet behind the cast member was also a turtle just hanging around. So the cast member was on double duty that day. :D
