have you been to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party?

well Being from Wisconsin myself.. I have wondered if "seeing snow" is that much of a good thing as well. One year we had so much snow before Christmas that the Osmond's came to our town with a Christmas special at the LaCrosse Center.. and when they ran the snow machine .. EVERYONE BOO'D.. to the point, whereas who ever was the head singer said, ,I guess that you have seen enough snow for the year already.. that's why I wonder if its worth the price. btw.. is it warm enough to do a water ride at night?

I LOVE LaCrosse. So beautiful! I miss going there every October on business (when I recruited for a UW).

When we were there it was cooler in the evening (60's), so unless we were swimming in a heated pool, I didn't want to get wet. Too chilly for my Wisconsin blood!

I can't speak for the party proper, but I have been in MK the week of Christmas and walking down Main Street when it's all lit up and there's snow.... SQUEE!

If paying $69 for each child and $74 for each adult (over $300 with tax for a family of 4) to see a Christmas parade, fireworks, and a few (very few) flakes of fake snow on Main St. and get "free" hot chocolate and a few sugar cookies is worth it to you, then by all means buy tickets.

"Closing" the park at 7 during a busy time of year and kicking out everyone who hasn't ponied up extra for the "Christmas Party" on top of the full day's admission they've already paid is, in my opinion, a gimmick. You can see plenty of parades and fireworks on other days. My family, kids included, liked the Main St. Electrical parade (shown on non-Christmas Party nights) better than the Christmas Party parade.

If you are using your Christmas Party ticket ONLY to get into the Magic Kingdom--not IN ADDITION to full day admission ticket--and arrive at at 4 and stay until close, it might be worth it to you.

We will not do a Christmas (or Halloween Party) again. But I'm the lone naysayer. Everyone else here seems to love it.

I haven't been in a while. Do they still have free cocoa? I remember people like encouraging their kids to get the cocoa since it's "free" and it cost them an arm and a leg to pay for admission.

Yes, cocoa and hot chocolate are still served and were still "free" with my family's $300 admission. And since most kids don't get hot chocolate or sugar cookies at home around Christmas time, it really makes it all worth the price.

And, yes, I was one of those parents. I had read the reviews (probably on this site) raving about the world's best hot chocolate and the best Christmas cookies ever and I wanted to make sure my kids were going to get this extra special delicious treat. I should have known when there was nobody else lined up to get any. They were ok. Nothing special. My kids didn't want more. I don't even think they finished what they got. But they were "free."

We went to the Christmas Party Nov 2014 and enjoyed it. We were able to see all the Seven Dwarfs together (which I understand is the only time you see them all together). It was cool to see it snowing on Main Street as well. The parade was nice.

We did MNSSHP in Oct 2013. I thought the parade was great. Seeing the Headless Horse come out carrying a pumpkin was really amazing.

Of the two we enjoyed the Halloween party more. I would say that both were pretty crowded. At least more than I thought they would be.

MVMCP used to be a great event. It was significantly cheaper than it is now. You used to get a free pin and photo in addition to the hot chocolate and cookies/apple slices.

Most importantly, when I first started going, either they limited the crowd more or it just wasn't as popular. I stopped going after 2009 because crowd wise it started seeming like a day in July (and I'd go to the earlier dates for the party). They also took away the free photo and pin.

Honestly, it isn't worth it anymore. The one highlight left is the parade but I don't think the overall value is enough just for the parade.

Yep they still have it. That and apple juice usually. We still love going every trip we can and can't wait to go back yet again eventhough we went the last 3 years in a row!! Lol Been 5 times total as of yet. :)

I am trying to decide about the Christmas Party on our arrival day, November 15th. Option 1- We could arrive at Magic Kingdom about 1pm and leave at 7pm with an included vacation package ticket. Option 2- Arrive at Wilderness Lodge and use pool/check in / eat dinner. Enter MK for party about 7pm and paying an extra $300. We are staying 7 days and have 2 more MK days planned. The main goal for us would be riding attractions with low lines and seeing the 10:15 Christmas parade. So many reviews are up and down about Christmas Party. I would appreciate any thoughts....

This will be my first time at MVMCP as well... I'm listening in to hear every single thing that's said! We have been to HP 3 times and love, love, love it! I'm also hearing via some grapevines this might be the last year for the Osbourne Christmas lights, so we're skipping Halloween and going for Christmas.

Option 1 squanders a full day Magic Kingdom admission on only two hours (1-4). With option 2 keep in mind that you don't have to wait until 7 to get in. You can get into the Magic Kingdom with Christmas Party tickets at 4. They kick out everyone else at 7. You can stay until midnight.

You wouldn't have to wait until 7pm for admission. Ticket holders are allowed entrance at 4pm. The Christmas festivities do not begin until 7, but I imagine you could use that extra 3 hours to catch some rides. When we have gone to the HP the lines for rides have been almost non-existent... We do the HP on arrival day, don't have to pay for a park ticket, as we have our "party" ticket, kind of get in, chill, have a nice Disney lunch, and head to the park to enter by 4pm. It works for us... Also, because you are going so early in the season, I believe your crowd level would be a lot lower...
