Since at some points there arent alot of people riding this and usually some cars are empty.... how do they monitor the Haunted Mansion for people sliding under the bar and hiding in the mansion... and how do they sweep it after the ride closes:veryconfu

There are intrusion mats located throughout the ride.

Step out of the doombuggy at the wrong time and you might also be in for quite a fall.

They have sensors on the floor. If someone gets out, an E-stop will occur.

there are also plates between each doombuggie

i've actually walked path between load and unload with the senors going off. don't ask why.

These so-called "intrusion mats" are used in all of the omnimover rides, including Spaceship Earth and Nemo, for example, where they are more visible. They work just like the mats in front of grocery stores and other stores with automatic doors. Put pressure on it, and it will trigger [whatever it has bee programmed to trigger]. Other trigger methods include fishing-line-like wires that, when "tripped," also trigger a ride/show stop.
