When you were a kid and you experienced the Haunted Mansion for the first time, were you ever scared? I used to be PETRIFIED of the stretch room. I couldnt even look up because i was too scared of the hanging skeleton.

Heck yes. It was a love-hate thing for me. I was excited to ride, but I dreaded seeing the Haunted Mansion on the guidemap. My heart would start to pound as we got closer to Liberty Square.

But, because I was with my parents, I felt safe going on the ride. That odd feeling of anxious anticipation remains a vivid memory to this day!

Oh definately. I HATED the Haunted Mansion. I used to cry on that Ride. I'd be asking my mom "what mean person made such a scary ride?" Sorry Walt! I DIDN'T KNOW! Now I love the ride TOTALLY. It's my favorite ride(I say ride because if I said attraction it would be a lie because it's a tie between Haunted Mansion and Fantasmic! Thank you for your time. The first time I was at WDW I was either 9 or turned 10 on the trip, I don't remember exactly. I don't remember being scared, I know I loved it and still do to this day. I find new things everytime I go on it. Just this past trip, while I was video-taping, you can see a lot more in nightvision, such as things on the tombstones in the graveyard. There's plenty more I'd love to see while I'm in there though. I didn't ever see Master Gracey hanging until the second time I went on HM and I was the only one in my family to see it, so I pointed it out when my mother, brother and I went and they were surprised. I make sure that everyone in the stretching room sees it now, if the host/hostess doesn't point it out in the first place.

I remember liking the stretching room, save for the thunder and lightning.
I used to have to hold my mom's hand when we passed the giant banana spiders,a dn when the vehicle went backwards for that short moment.
And once, when I was teeny-tiny, I used to carry a little portable flashlight with me because I loved the ride so much and I didn't not want to go just because of my fear of the dark. ;)

I wouldn't ride the Haunted Mansion unless I could sit between my parents. When I was about 9 years old, I was in the doombuggie with my brother and sister passing the endless hallway when all of a sudden the man in the armored suit jump out at us. It scared me so much I screamed. Funny enough, that incident made me like the ride more and not be so afraid of it.

From what I remember I loved that ride and from then on was facinated with ghost and haunted houses. I thought ghost in haunted houses acted the same way as the ghost did at the ride LOL....:)

Oh my I was terrified of the stretch room. My mom or dad would have ot hold me close and I would close my eyes the whole time! I didn't mind the rest of the ride though...it wasn't too scary.

I have to say though now when you sit in the doombuggies and go past the spiderwebs evreytime I feel like somebody is going to come out and touch me and at the point of the ride I get jumpy. It's just the wierdest thing, I get it EVERY time :lookaroun

It scared me, along with the song I had on the LP official album record. But what terrified me the most a Disney World was the Big Bad Wolf, and Brair Fox,,those costumes are terrifying still

I was facinated by HM from the beginning (it was my first ride). I was nine years old and had never been anywhere outside of Illinois. I guess I was too busy taking everything in to be scared.

i took my cousin last year, she was 6, she made it through the stretching room
(I was holding her though, didn't want to get separated during the exit) then while waiting to get on the doom buggies, her uncles were making werewolf sounds, she was freaking out. during the ride we made sure she didn't miss anything spooky, I thik she really enjoyed it, although, she thought the ghost hitchiker really left with us! :)

I was terrified of the ride when i was small, but it is one of my favorites now. The stretching room scared me more than anything. But, times have changed, i took my 5 year old cousin on it, he was scared at first, came off a little less scared, and now when anywone asks him what his favorite ride is he says "Haunted Mansion". He did not like when to ghost sat next to him, though.
