So I was flipping threw the new 2008 BirnBaum guide, and in the haunted mansion section they say "Cobwebs are bought in liquid form and strung up by a secret process". Secret process? Can someone elaborate.

Or is this BirnBaum being crazy, such as marking HISTA a "BIRNBAUM'S BEST!!!"

It's not real Birnbaum any longer for quite some years. I don't know who is doing the writing now but Birnbaum died years ago.

Yes, there is a machine used to make spiderwebs. It was used extensively on that old TV show "The Munsters" and other films and TV shows.

It's called a Cobweb Spinner. It's basically a hot glue gun outfitted to use with compressed air. As the hot glue hits the air stream it is instantly cooled and becomes stringy. After the web is set you then dust the web with Fuller's Earth so that it's more visible. I use baby powder and it works just fine.

There was another one on the market a while back but they don't make them anymore. It was a drill attachment that looked like a fan with a cup in the middle. But the drill had to have a lot of power to make it work.

I believe Birnbaum 2009 will be issued in Sept, or Oct. Any one have the date of issue and how about the Unofficial Guide is that still coming in August? :shrug:

Universe of Energy, Kali River Rapids. Good attractions, but definitely not a "BEST" in my opinion and dont deserve to be put in the same sentence as some of the truly best attractions.
