What happens when Two holidays collide. Its easy to make the connection to Christmas and Halloween given the characters.

But they're celebrating CHRISTMAS! I don't care if it's the Easter Bunny celebrating Christmas, that doesn't mean it should be an Easter overlay.

Another reason to prefer Universal. They never change the E.T. ride. There are ridiculous neon puppets in it, but they're supposed to be there and they're charming.

But yeah, while I do enjoy HMH, it is around for too long. I’d start mid October at the earliest.

yeah sorry for the rant. it is just the overlay makes my blood boil when I think about it. not being able to ride THE HAUNTED MANSION during HALLOWEEN makes no sense to me and it is a shame.

Okay all.....thank you for all the great information. My son and I went out last November and it was amazing and he's now dying to go back. We are thinking about going back as a whole family and we'd love to go in January but the HM overlay is really important. Does anyone know how late into January they keep it up? TIA

Haunted Mansion Hokuday's last day of operation will be January 6 and it will start the transformation back to regular HM on January 7. It always closes the day after the Holiday season ends.

HMH is my temporary overlay soulmate I love it. I also love HM but you know what - I only get to visit Disneyland twice a year if i'm lucky, so the timing of the overlay doesn't bug me one bit. I go once pre-summer to see HM, and once post-summer to see HMH.
