Haunted Mansion Movie OST

So I havent yet seen the full track list for the Haunted Mansion Movie soundtrack, and Ive even heard rumors that Danny Elfman might have done the main score (i hope so!), but i am kinda dissapointed to see that Nelly has a new song on it. I just saw the video for it, and I didnt really see how the song fits the movie. I have always hated it when movie soundtracks are full of songs by popular music stars simply to hype the movie a little more. My opinion is that if a song (or other element of the movie) isn't essential to the plot and is in the movie for some other reason (such as for promotion) then it shouldn't be in there at all, and isn't going to help the integrity of the movie.

But that is all just my opinion. I am still excited to see the movie, Im still excited to hear the soundtrack, and I really HOPE that Nelly's song fits in well (or it could be one of those things where they will not actually have his song in the movie, and just play it during the credits, which i'm not a fan of).

thats all.

Well, I'm not wild about Nelly either, but I think his song is probably going to fit the Eddie Murphey part of the movie. Let's just hope his song is in the credits only.

I saw the video earlier this week and I wasn't impressed. Actually, it sort of made me sick to see that the video was tied to the movie...

Thanks for the list, Meeko! Since the song obviously wasn't suitable for children/family audiences, they opted out on putting it on the soundtrack and just left it for the end of the movie (for credits or whatnot).

This is the only soundtrack I could find for the Haunted Mansion. Didn't see Nelly on it, but it looks like Mark Mancina is doing the score insteed of Danny Elfman.

Haunted Mansion Haunted Hits

the cd you linked us to, isn't the soundtrack of the movie, as far as i can tell, but just a compliation of songs related to the attraction. some fo them are original attraction songs, and some are several years old (like the barenakedladies one). still looks good though. thanks.

Well, Disney.com and Amazon.com only had this listed and no other soundtrack. I'm guessing this is just it as far as soundtracks go.

You can lay all your fears to rest! They only play the Nelly song at the end when the credits are going up the screen! The Haunted Mansion movie was AWESOME! :D :sohappy:  I just got back from the pre screening!

I just got home from a screening too.

I suffered through that song during the credits to see what might pop up at the end.

Thank goodness I didn't suffer for naught. :D

Pretty good movie. Not as good as PotC, but good.

Actually there were some original scores, but alot of it was based around Grim grinning ghost and variations of it. Even some music from the Phantom Manor in Disneyland, Paris.

Just to reiterate here is a review from a poster from doombuggies.com that basically says what I feel about the movie.

My opinion on the movie:

I absolutely loved the opening credits, the Portrait hall, the CoD, and the graveyard!

The ghosts in the graveyard were absolutely fabulous! Job well done on the make-up effects and CG stuff.

And, to retiterate what Wolf said, definately stay till the end of the credits...most people left and missed a "Special surpise"....

I thought Eddie Murphy was ok in it. Tilly was abit, well, annoying (i dont really like her voice).

Overall, I loved the movie and its references to the ride...I will most definately see it again...many times...

P.S.- It was wonderful too see some of the Fl. Doombugs again at the Orlando showing...
Thanks,

Now imagineer boy, I wouldn`t want to give away the movie! LOL!
But some of the referances are suttle and others are QUITE OBVIOUS!
I`ll give you one tid bit, they start the movie with the opening speil of the ride, you know the Welcome foolish mortals to the Haunted Mansion.... and it`s Paul Freeze not someone else :D When that came on the whole audience cheered! LOL! :D
